What I'd really like to do today, IS actually sit at my desk and get some work done.

I'm the primary care giver for the babies during the week, so getting some work done during normal business hours is typically difficult for me.

Happy Birthday. I turned 34 a few weeks back. Got the grey 'burns too.

you only live once. when I started working fro home I told myself this is what I want to do, I can do what I want, take off any day of the week I want to. but to most thas all a lie, they are glued to the desk, work 18 hour days and spend zero time with their family.

hah i hear ya man now that I am a father I know exactly what you mean.

last night I took a hot bath and really though about life. i truly feel that i have lived a good life, my 34 years on this planet have bee very hard but are a breeze compared to the position some people are born in to this world.

I sat there layin back in tub and just thought about how i am most likely about half way through my life and I simply do not want to waste another moment, been self employed for over 10 years and feel I took back a huge portion of my life not sitting in traffic all day and working 40+ hours at a cubicle... our days are numbered, and so I woke up and made a thread about grabbing life by the horns... people can hate on me all they want, wont change the fact im going have fun and they will continue to wallow in misery.

sounds awesome, one question though, will you still be working and on gfy etc? Most of the time people say "going on vacation" and then they on gfy every day of the trip and never really get away from anything LOL

few people take 14 days off and really take em off these days in our line of work LOL

theyll be on the beach but still checking emails and working on laptop.

I will have contact through my client forum and e-mail. I would go crazy if I could not check stats and communicate with clients and employees. I will take at least a couple days off as soon as I get there. I have been working 18+ hour days to try and get caught up.

If by "do what you want" you mean, sitting here writing 1st-of-the-month checks for child support, electric bill, rent, etc... then yeah, I'm goin' wild brah. :thumbsup

when i shut and lock my office door i leave work in that dungeon, the last time i was out with my mom and wife spending the day with them and got a client email on blackberry I swore then Id never answer another email while out with my family ever again. at some point you have to draw the line on when you free yourself from work. Its not a vacation if youre still working.

LOL. Sounds like a day of fun!

No payment days for me. All automatic.

Those are the three things I still have to write paper checks for. :(
