Sundusky, Ohio - Hotel recommendations?
Taking the fiancee to Cedar Point for her birthday next weekend and I'm looking for a decent but cheap hotel. Preferably <$100/night. We will only be there to sleep for a few hours at most so it doesn't have to be anything fancy by far. Don't mind driving 30-45 minutes to get to the park either. That's not a problem.
I know there are quite a few people here on GFY from Ohio so figured I'd ask for some recommendations. |
Been through Sandusky many times.... they actually have a hotel?

FYI be careful. Most of Sandusky is a dirty ghetto.

Cedar Point has some right in the park
and there is lots of cheaper motels near 80/90 Toll Rd http://www.expedia.com/Sandusky-Hote...l-Guide-Hotels |

Just book a room at the Breakers Nice hotel, and you get the Cedar Point Discounts when you stay there If its Full,,,LMK and I will get you an alternative |
I'M PUTTING THIS ALL IN CAPS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TO CEDAR POINT A GAZILLION TIMES.
STAY AT THE SANDCASTLE SUITES!!! You can walk right to the park, come back and lounge and go back to the park without the parking hassle. Sandcastle Suites are right by the Magnum XL and the go-kart area. Just a short walk and bam! you are there. |

We actually had to take the rental car and park it over in the RV area where my parents were because the walk is that much further. |

Have a lot of fun - I hope you and the lady enjoy roller coasters. Their waterpark is rather large and you could spend a half day there. The lazy river is nice. =) They have incredible salt water taffy there too. Take a race around the go-kart track too, it's a lot of fun. Have a good time! http://caleblee.com/284.jpg |
The Lighthouse has availability. This is actually closer than the Sandcastle Suites in terms of walking to the park. From SS you have to walk through Camper Village which is where The Lighthouses are.
It's a bit more than $100/day, but you get free tickets into the park and Soak City (the waterpark). Parking isn't cheap either, so that's something to factor into the price as well. EDIT: They all have availability. :) |
Cedar Point is awesome!

I've stayed at the hotel in the park but not anywhere else around there. Can't remember what it costs.

I'll have to look over the hotel thing again - it was telling me nothing was available earlier. Weird. Thank you for all of your help, Kristin! Definitely appreciate it. :thumbsup :thumbsup |
