PornMD 06-04-2010 01:53 PM

Customer service and offering something of true value.

ASW 06-20-2010 11:42 PM

martinsc 06-20-2010 11:45 PM

honesty.......

MetaMan 06-21-2010 12:07 AM

fill or create a void. there is nothing else to it. customer support dont mean shit if customers do not want your product.

MetaMan 06-21-2010 12:12 AM

i also do not want to earn peoples business. i want to shove it down their greedy little throats until they are forced to buy. i want to take the shittiest product possible and make insane margins on it by perception alone. the only earning i want to be doing is their money in my pocket.

ya man i realized especially this last couple years the way this world works.

customers have 0 loyalty these days. the second they see better value or perceive that something else is better (by perception alone) they are going to switch overnight.

i am the type of guy to start a restaurant with the shittiest burgers in the city and pay 20 people to stand in line all day so when people come in they can brag to them how it is "always busy" and the "greatest burgers in town".

people are greedy little vultures. if you arent the dog willing to eat, another dog is going to eat you.

customer support is all perceived also. if you convince people your product offers value (even though it may be the shittiest on the planet) they will be less likely to complain about it. infact to much customer support can be a bad thing. than they start to rely on you instead of figuring it out for themselves.

"press 9" "sorry you pressed 8" "press 9"....

the customer support thing depends on the product though. as long as people perceive they are being helped most people are to stupid to know any different. hell these days people are just happy if someone picks up the phone.

The best way to get business on GFY is to not be a troll, and don't argue with everyone all the time. People tend to remember those things. If you offer a specific service, make sure it's obvious that you A) understand it and B) do it naturally.

I offer writing, so I tend to try to avoid using poor grammar or spelling. I also avoid the shit flinging that happens here a lot. I'm always writing for people, and I only advertise here on GFY in my sig, so I must be doing something right.

Cliffs: Act professional. Be kind and courteous.

MetaMan 06-21-2010 12:42 AM

I dont use customer support for customer support. i use it to convince people my crap product is amazing.

there is something in the human brain hearing a humans voices that bridges the gap in trust.

ErectMedia 06-21-2010 12:48 AM

good product, good service and be a real nigga and follow through. If I tell someone I'm gonna be somewhere or have something done by a certain time they don't even question it as they know my word is gold. Too many people let their mouths write checks their ass can't cash. :thumbsup

On B2B it's simple. Make people money. All the other things are add ons. If you don't make them money they don't do business with you.

For B2C deliver what C wants and at a price that he will pay.

pornguy 06-21-2010 05:41 AM

Get to know them.. Not just their business but a little more. Get to know their work hours, The sites they like and dis like, What sort of PC they use. Little things like that so you can speak more about what they know.

That's why you do your best to convey the value you do offer in your target market's terms. An example given I sell domains, a buyer of a domain may not know shit about what Google's Estimated Avg CPC and Global Monthly Search #s mean to them, but if I translate it into the value and amount of ongoing traffic a domain could command upon ranking highly for its term (which with exact keyword matching domains is a breeze to do most of the time upon development), then what I have to offer now can mean something to them. I can translate it into potential customers for their business, which they can then translate into potential profit for their business. Throw a bunch of meaningless #s at them though and it'd be like speaking French to a Texan.

Still, you are right...not everyone sees the same value in things, but you can't please everyone. Apple may have more market cap than Microsoft and be one of the biggest companies on the planet, but there are still some people (like me) that can't stand them or their fanboys whatsoever. The difference is they don't care...they cater to the people that do like them and what they have to offer.

Make sure your program for affiliates pays out EVERY month regardless of income. I personally don't like carry-overs. Have a sex toy sponsor that pays out every payday, even if its only a measly $1.99. No carryovers is the answer.

Meeting them person. Once you've met someone in person you feel closer to them instead of something you talk to online or on the phone.
