Gaza blockade: Iran offers escort
|
Meanwhile.... Hamas is putting conditions on taking the "desperately needed supplies" from the first convoy...
http://www.spiegel.de/international/...698766,00.html "People who are not in with Hamas don't see any of the relief goods or the gifts of money," Khadar says. On the sand dune where his house once perched, there is now an emergency shelter. The shelter is made of concrete blocks that Khadar dug from the rubble, and the roof is the canvas of a tent that provided the family with shelter for the first summer after the war. "Hamas supporters get prefabricated housing, furnishings and paid work. We get nothing," Khadar complains. Hamas Members Take and Distribute 'at Their Own Discretion' The reason his family receives nothing: Like many of his neighbors, Khadar is a die-hard supporter of the Fatah party, the sworn political enemy of the more radical Islamists in Hamas. That's why Khadar has little hope of seeing any of the 10,000 tons of aid that the activist flotilla heading for the Gaza Strip tried to bring to Gaza's harbor at the start of this week. " ____________________ "The bulk of the goods, which were temporarily confiscated, have since been released by Israel and brought to the Gaza border. But now there's another problem: Hamas is playing politics. The autocratic rulers of the Gaza Strip have placed conditions on aid delivery. The goods are not to be brought into the territory piece by piece, but all at once. All or nothing. By making these demands Hamas wants to ensure the building materials are all handed over. Since the end of the war Israel has impeded delivery of cement and steel because these items could be used for military facilities, including tunnels and bunkers. " It's all just bullcrap theater. |
Mmm...this is getting worse and worse...
|
One fact that's missing from all the drama: Israel routinely lets in food and other vital materials to Gaza. They only want to inspect for weapons/rocket materials. Why is that unreasonable? I mean, aren't thousands of rockets launched from Gaza in the past enough reason?
|
the hilarious thing is people actually think there will ever be peace over in the middle east? LOL
NEVER will be, not now, not 1000 years from now. Just sit back and enjoy the show, its better than scripted reality tv. What could be more entertaining than religious war? And we dont even have to PPV it!! its like free mma except with guns and bombs. |

I kid, but I don't kid... :( |
why does the civilized world have to be always pulled in to the barbaric territorial struggles of these primitive tribes? time for the west to chop off these hands trying to sink the ship of civilization before it is too late.

The compromise already happened - Egypt opened its borders, blockade a failure.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100607/.../gaza_blockade So to a large degree this will help as far as transport of humanitarian aide etc. I don't see why aide groups wouldnt use this route to bypass israel. |

Iran is going to get attacked one way or the other, weather they are building a nuke or not. Its been in the plans since "A Clean Break" was written.
They might as well try to make some friends and allies in the meantime. :) |
So basically Iran wants to escort the ships so that Israel will fire on the Iranian Navy? That's brilliant. I hope Iran does this, and I hope Israel opens up on them and sinks them. Seriously. Seems to me the middle east needs to be reminded by the Israelis who the boss is.
At the very least it will make TV more interesting to watch. Quote:

I think Iran should just start inspecting US ships in the Gulf. I mean, in the name of their self defense right?
|
its probably war if iran escorts the ships

"Iran's Revolutionary Guard naval forces are prepared to escort the peace and freedom convoys that carry humanitarian assistance for the defenceless and oppressed people of Gaza with all their strength,"
:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh I'd like to see them try, Israel's navy would absolutely crush them. |
Iran naval forces? That must be a joke.
What are they going to do? Sail into Red Sea bypassing airstrikes, then Suez and then into Mediterranean where submarines are waiting for them? :1orglaugh Now that they have announced their "intentions" they would be owned by Israel military. Iran will never get international approval for military actions. All they want, and can, is to victimize and use the people of Gaza for suicide missions. Iran knows that and that's why they are only provoking with their usual propaganda and "solidarity" crap. |

"The few items merchants are allowed to trade in are divided into three categories: food, medicine and detergent. Everything else is forbidden - including building materials (which are necessary to rehabilitate Gaza's ruins and rebuild its infrastructure), electric appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines, spare machine and car parts, fabrics, threads, needles, light bulbs, candles, matches, books, musical instruments, crayons, clothing, shoes, mattresses, sheets, blankets, cutlery, crockery, cups, glasses and animals. Many of the banned products are imported through the tunnels and can be found in Gaza's markets. Pasta, which had been forbidden in the past, is now allowed, after U.S. Senator John Kerry expressed his astonishment at the ban during a visit to Gaza in February. But tea, coffee, sausages, semolina, milk products in large packages and most baking products are forbidden. So are industrial commodities for manufacturing food products, chocolate, sesame seeds and nuts. Israel does allow importing fruit, milk products in small packages and frozen food products as well as limited amounts of industrial fuel." http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition...-gaza-1.276147 even the minimal array of food etc that is allowed through is only 25% of what is needed by the people there according to the UN. |
Well lookie there just in time for the end of the Bilderberg meeting where they green light going to war with Iran. We have born Jew Ahmajinedad stepping up to do his part in making that happen.
And drumroll please.. Our favorite camel back riding ghost has pulled his head out of the sand Osama bin Laden and top aides are hiding in Sabzevar, Iran Osama bin Laden's hiding place for the last five years was pinned down Monday, June 7 by Middle East sources as the mountainous town of Savzevar in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan. He is said to enjoy Iran's sanctuary along with Ayman Al-Zawahiri and five other high-ranking al Qaeda leaders. debkafile reports Middle East sources leaked the information to expose Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan as bound to be in on this secret thanks to his intense military and intelligence ties with Tehran. I think that most of you don't realize how serious things are...
|
Soon to be WWIII -- n/s korea, china (who knows who they back), russia getting pissed, iran, iraq, palestine...afghanistan, iraq -- we'll be at full World War within the next couple of years I think...
Good thing is that the countries with the best tech are on our side :) |

I was going to say that the Iranian Navy only has fucking speed boats, but I looked it up and they have a handful of destroyers and a few subs. But I don't think the US has any civilian ships in the area. It seems to me that most of the tankers aren't American, but instead flagged under odd countries that don't pay much attention to shipping laws. It's a legal work around. |

I am glad the world is slowly realizing what Israel is really about. Thank God for the internet or all media would be filtered bullshit.
i stopped watching TV in general. Especially the filtered news. |

But it changes as per : The number of items changes according to what is determined by The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. COGAT has refused the PA representative's request for an updated list of the items permitted into Gaza in writing, and passes the information only via the telephone. http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition...-gaza-1.276147 The purpose of the blockade is not really the arms issue, but to deprieve a population of essential goods and make them suffer so when the next election comes, they will not vote for HAMAS ... () which by the way were more then happy to support, arm and finance a few decades ago ... a bit like usa - bin laden .. ) |

Meanwhile many foods are banned and many medical supplies are also banned Quote:
Maybe israel should let palestinians inspect their border shipments for weapons or rockets , why is that unreasonable ? i mean the hundreds of thousand of rockets launched from israel in the past isn't enough reason ? the hundreds of babies and elderly killed by israeli rockets isn't enough.. maybe if 100 palestinians babies died for every one israeli person killed , would that be enough ? |

But don't take my word for it, grab some guns and go try to hop on the deck of a american warship in international waters and see how far you get with your inspection :) The only rule israel followed is " he who has the bigger guns makes the rules" |
