New Wallpaper Pics

Not my finest work. Heavy winds and rain took their toll on these pics I shot yesterday. The trees and bushes are blurry. Overall I'm not very happy with these shots but I'll share them anyway.

This year has been one of the heavier rain years on record in Oregon. Although it's usually pretty green, it's even greener this spring.

oooo where do you live in Oregon? I really want to move there after visiting last year (Ashland), planning to scope out Portland soon to see if I would like to move around that area :D

The first pic was taken about 30 miles East of Portland and the 2nd was taken 51 miles East. Both in the Columbia River Gorge.

It sucks 9 months out of the year.

Pretty depressing area of the country actually. High suicide rates because of it.

If you like cold, rain, hippies, and micro breweries, go ahead and move here.

haha well I live in AZ, and its hot (we are in the 110s now) and never rains lol. So that would be nice. And we're all into the organic/hippy-ness so sounds like we would fit in haha

I have a place in AZ, a place in Vegas, and a place in Portland.

I'd move to NorCal if they didn't have such stupid gun laws.

WAY too much rain in the PNW.

Supz 06-07-2010 10:42 PM

Yeah, a little bit. Didn't adjust the color or contrast at all.

Because it was raining hard there was a white "film" covering the picture (streaking rain). I used the burn tool to remove it but the rain still washed a lot of the detail out. Then I ran it through unsharp mask.

A Photoshop artist, I am not.

Sandokan 06-08-2010 12:03 AM

Nice slow-exposure photos!!!

WiredGuy 06-08-2010 12:22 AM

I love the foggy effect over the water. Great work :)

Depends on where in the PNW you live. I grew up in south eastern WA, which is desert. We traded rain for sand storms.

EliteWebmaster 06-08-2010 02:14 AM

our Portland friends want us to move there... that commentary is hilarious. :1orglaugh

for some reason a few of our New Orleans friends have settled over there, its like they left hot depressing for cold depressing. :upsidedow

spazlabz 06-08-2010 11:13 AM

that is extremely impressive I love what you did with the shutter speed to get the water like that. I will be replacing my hubble photo of the crab nebula with one of these pics

The red moss in the left bottom corner seems to have killed the shot for me.

http://ampcontent.com/pics/Wallpaper/GortonCreek.jpg

This is an excellent shot. I wonder how much weed you can grow in there

Well i know the theory and basics... BUt for some reason I dont get those results.

I just want to know if its SUPER low aperture and a really long exposure with a dark filter for less light more time...

or if im way off...

I cant seem to get the light and detail with enough time exposed to achieve the cotton water...

Fuck if I know. I'd say you don't need any more weed though since you are seeing red moss that doesn't exist.
