its no secret the entire NWA crew were studio gangsters imitating what they saw on the street but were never really part of, ghetto boys were much more real about it. they saw vatos sporting dickies and locs and started doing it.

Ice cube sold out. Those Friday movies made him soft. He was one of my favorite gangsta rappers back in the day, along with 2pac, Snoop, Dre, and Eazy-E, Deathrow Records to the end

its not about a silver spoon its about the difference between rappers who have had their hands on kilos of cocaine and AKs, and those who sit in drafting class writing about doing what others are actually doing. Big differnce between being real with it and just writing about it. Ice CUbe is a talented rap writer, but he never lived the street life, ever.
