Printer recommendations???
Hey all,
I need to replace my office printer with a new one. I need a all-in-one that does print/scan/fax/copy Any suggestions for a solid model? I prefer HP, but I'm open to other brands. Thanks homies. :pimp:pimp |
I try to stay away from the all-in-one models.... if one function goes down, you gotta replace the whole works. So, I can't recommend a specific machine, but I just wanted to say for the printer part, try get a laserjet.
A friend of mine does have an all-in-one HP machine, and it's wireless. I haven't heard her complain about it or anything. :2 cents: |
I've always used HP but bought an Epson once it was crap. Heard the same about Brother too

i'd stay away from a all in one also and go with a cheap b/w laser for simple docs
for printing black & white docs you can pick up a cheap Laser printer for 99 bucks or less just about anywhere. It will save you a shitload of money and hassle versus a ink jet. |

I need to be able to scan, copy and fax also. Should I really buy four separate appliances? I'm indifferent about laser vs. ink, but I do need all four functions. Has anyone used the officejet 8500? |

I use a the brother MFC-9840CDW. Its an all in one laser color. I use it on my wireless network with all of my Macs. I make a lot of copies and print a lot. Costed about $700, but that was 2 years ago. Very solid system. Going laser versus ink jet really saved me a lot on printer cartridges.
A black cartridge for a laser printer is about $60-$80 but you get 5000 clean copies. I save a lot of money in copies going the laser route versus the ink jet route or even the Kinkos route. If you are gonna work it hard, go Brother and go laser, if you are gonna be light on it and use is here and there go HP. I still have two HP's 3 in ones. One is 6 years old and the other is 10 years old and both work very well. I use them at the studios for photo copies here and there. The HP prints a great quality, the downside to HP is that the ink will end up costing you a grip in the long run. Oh yea, i also have a small HP that we use only for printing photos of our daughter. Very good, very high quality too. 8x10's really rock. We are very happy with it. Costed $80 and is very small and portable. The downside, is ink plus paper costs. You wont go wrong with HP or Brother brands. I have personally put them all through the ringer and not one issue or one misprint. I really do think the HP's will never die, been waiting and waiting and they are still going strong. Hope this helps you out. |
Have you thought about using a printer of another business at a cost of about $0.07 a printed page?

I have had the same experience with the ink jet vs. laser. I own and use both HP and Brother. I have a Brother laser printer and also an ink jet all in one, both perform great, but hands down no comparison..you will get the most print mileage out of a laser printer and spend a fraction of what you would have if it was produced via ink jet. |
