GFY Domain Section Is Crap

:321GFY

1. You send them your adult domains for sale, they pick the best ones you have, completely reasonable.

Nobody want's a domain like "2horney4u.info" anyway, although some people in "offworld" countries seem to think such domains are wildly valuable.

2. They want 15%, comission, again resonable if they can market and sell them.

3. But when the emails go out - you will find yours - as I have - in the "friends" category.

I don't really know what the "friends" category is - or who the fuck would actually look there.

The "adult" category might be too much of a stretch for Xpays.

Oh, I'm sorry that section is only reserved for the ones that "they" have for sale.

:)

TeenCat 06-09-2010 06:40 PM

seriously man, if you know the value of domains, you dont need to buy one domain

~Ray 06-09-2010 06:42 PM

pay to play and get trated the same way

ArsewithClass 06-09-2010 06:45 PM

I do not sell domains but it does seem a shame when companies do a trade, offer the trade but then do half the work for other as they do for themselves.

Hoping things change for you & others.

TeenCat 06-09-2010 06:49 PM

stop crying, every section of gfy is crap :) ask your mom for review :winkwink:

ArcherJanvier 06-09-2010 06:57 PM

I ain't cryin' about shit.

Just pointing out that people shouldn't waste their time with these shitheads.

Well, and sometimes when someone actually has valuable domains they don't want it at all. I wonder how they decide from who they take domains for auctioning and from who they don't... but well, this is a private business, they have the right to do whatever they want. There are many other services that will gladly auction domains from anyone. :thumbsup

ArcherJanvier 06-09-2010 07:33 PM

Yes, they most certainly do have every right to do what they want and to promote whatever they want, as long as they are up front about it.

What does not sit well with me - is when someone holds themself out as an agent - and then you find out that they are only interested in promoing their own product.

I am really sorry, but I smell a rat here and I believe that people on this board should know about it.

Everyone here should look at this "apparent" con job and decide for themselves. Don't just take my word for it.

Are you saying that every one of the domains they have listed in their expanding list they've been marketing here is one their own?

Cyber Fucker 06-09-2010 08:22 PM

I think that they have very small selected group of people with who they deal.

ArcherJanvier 06-09-2010 08:31 PM

I believe so.

Otherwise I would not be complaining about this.

Honestly, I do not own anything of the caliber of boobs.com, so I do not expect to be promoted as such. And they have every right to shout about that to whoever might listen.

But I am not trying to sell domains like xsites4u.com either.

Of the ones that I submitted, aside from whether one would argue about asking price, they all ended up in the friends category.

Here are some examples:

PMChat.com

Fuckwad.com

FetishStudios.com

These domains, to me, are not crap, and deserve better than to be lumped in with the "friends" category, whatever the fuck that means anyway.

If you don't like it, don't list with them.

Maybe their disclosure could be a little better, but Evan does a nice job in general.

fatfoo 06-09-2010 09:39 PM

All domains should be listed.

A buyer can look through many domains.

I'm not sure what the "friends" list is you are referring to, got a link? On the other hand, I'm not sure your domains merit being on their master list.

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-09-2010 09:50 PM

Those are crappy domains you have therr.

I have some domains listed with them for sale in the gfy domain section. Not sure what you are talking about with a "friends" category.

XPays 06-09-2010 10:56 PM

We have a reorganization plan and you can bitch all you want and we will still list your names if we feel they have the potential to sell.

The % of names that are owned by the community is the overwhelming majority. Any claim that the names are all house owned in the threads and Friends of HuntingMoon section is false.

And to Cyber Fucker - again, my advice is to hold those 3d domains and we will contact you when the 3d names are selling for optimistic values.

To the many members that are participating- HuntingMoon and GFY really appreciate your contributions as buyers and sellers. We will improve your user experience over time. There is no question that we have an excellent inventory now that is worthy of cross-listing in all the relevant HuntingMoon categories. This is a natural progression that will happen over time.

XPays 06-09-2010 11:00 PM

another couple points of interest:

the fee varies
we have a new staff member (David) in training to help

some of you will never be happy but we are confident that we are on the right train and tracks.

Black Ops 06-10-2010 05:44 AM

Does anyone actually buy domains from in there? The prices are usually stupid.

CIVMatt 06-10-2010 06:37 AM

I wish there was a separate for sale forum only for domains
