Installed the beta 4 a while ago, works great although some apps seem to hang.. will install the gold master today..
I like the new iOS4 a lot :thumbsup

This is the official release. Gold Master means it is the version that is going to ship.

I'd love to try it on a simulator on the pc....

I have it installed but not from there. I can tell you it is stable but the 3rd party apps are not updated for it. It will work but be prepared for issues if your planning to try and use it for non development purposes until the App store apps are updated.

Yup all the app devs will have to update there apps for this new version , Oonce i get mine I might hold off on actually using it....

BTW from a 36s to the new iphone I can simply just do a "restore" onto the new 4g from the 3gs backup? without losing any shit?

You dont even restore just do a sync I believe. Restore would flash the hardware back to the older ios3.
