filezilla - FTP

Hi,

I'm looking for a free FTP client. and I have tried few that did not work so well :)

Does any one use filezilla FTP from http://filezilla-project.org/ and has any comments about it ?

Thanks you for your time

Itchy 06-11-2010 08:41 AM

Works great!

Tom_PM 06-11-2010 08:48 AM

My host insisted I switch to it since it has more security than my old one. No complaints, but havent needed to FTP very heavily to be fair.

We recommend it as well! Works great!!! :thumbsup

DidierE 06-11-2010 09:15 AM

Works good indeed. Only problem i'm having is that my internet connection drops when i sometimes download ~5-20MB files from ftp. But i guess it's just a fucked up Vista problem...

woj 06-11-2010 09:16 AM

yea, it's pretty good :thumbsup

yabate 06-11-2010 09:29 AM

I used it.
Also i'm using totalcmd.

Both works great, but there is some worms that collects saved user/pass from totalcmd.. :S (fixed in newer versions)

NaughtyRob 06-11-2010 09:45 AM

best ftp client hands down, im a former paid user of flashfxp, and i dumped it after using filezilla for just a day, i like the use of tabs, and the way it transfers files, flashfxp transfers files one by one, filezilla does many at a time.

wish i started using it sooner

Belinda 06-11-2010 10:04 AM

I use it. Took some getting use to but love it.

DiF0r 06-11-2010 10:42 AM

Yup filezilla is cool

ArsewithClass 06-11-2010 11:04 AM

Indeed as many have said, it works simply & fantastic.

Ive used filezilla & other zilla software including the virus software for 4 yrs or more

BlackElf 06-11-2010 11:26 AM

Wow - thanks for all the great input :)

BSleazy 06-11-2010 11:52 AM

trevesty 06-11-2010 11:54 AM

Filezilla is by far the best FTP program :)

HostGladiator 06-11-2010 11:55 AM

Great ftp program.

Horny Joe 06-11-2010 12:02 PM

Love filezilla... Have used cuteFTP and WSFtp... Filezilla is the best imo

Matyko 06-11-2010 12:03 PM

I used FlashFXP for years, than I changed to FileZilla, but after I met a fucking annoying and strange bug* I use both again.

* Sometimes FileZilla is swapping files, both when I UL or DL... For example when I upload a fresh gallery, I notice that the uploaded files are swapped: what is 04.jpg on my computer becomes 05.jpg on the server and vice versa. I always use the most recent version and it does this strange thing on all the computers we use in my office.. Very very annoying... Anyone else met this?

its a great product

VHNet 06-11-2010 12:05 PM

Love FileZilla, used it for quite a while now, but I don't think there really is a "perfect" FTP client...so might as well use one that doesn't cost a damn thing.

Coup 06-11-2010 12:07 PM

filezilla is a great ftp prog. But last I heard it isn't exactly the most secure as it stores your passwords and logins in plain text. Dunno if they've fixed that up yet or not.

SykkBoy 06-11-2010 12:11 PM

I've been using it for years and would never go back to WSFTP or CuteFTP again

La_Sexorcist 06-11-2010 01:12 PM

I use filezilla and love it.

brentbacardi 06-11-2010 01:33 PM

Filezilla is da shiznit! aka have always used it forever with no complaints!

moeloubani 06-11-2010 03:23 PM

Cyber Fucker 06-11-2010 04:28 PM

Sure, it's a very nice piece of software! If you have very stable connection or if you need ftp agent for single files only you can use also Total Commander. :thumbsup

scarlettcontent 06-11-2010 04:38 PM

I have head this as well. A search of google "filezilla hack" bring us some interesting results. Can not post links to other forums but there seem to be a few threads on other boards, adx has a few topics, about people's ftp accounts getting stolen and servers getting infected with malicious code, java, iframes and such.

Some have said filezilla had something to do with this. That there is a trojan, virus that infects your desktop, it then scans your documents & settings for the files that filezilla and other common FTP programs use to store saved passwords.

Did this happen to anyone here on gfy?
