Kevin Costner's oil-water separator invention.

"Mr. Costner claimed that the largest unit could separate oil from 200 gallons of polluted water in a minute. He said that BP, the company that owns the well that exploded in the gulf, has ordered 32 of these machines."

he spent 15 years and about $24 million to develop a machine to separate oil from water

not a bad idea at all

Hopefully this leads to Waterworld 2.

...as a theme park. With Jeanne Triplehorn and Tina Majorino lookalikes as ushers. Has the machines been used already?

cherrylula 06-11-2010 03:03 PM

since oil and water don't mix you'd think they would have easily mastered this by now.

I'm amazed there isn't technology available to readily do this. Where's Vince from Shamwow!

I actually think it's a good idea to at least try.

But this shows how pathetically unprepared everyone was for an oil spill. When Keven Costner is the position to be the hero...lol

I hope it works as advertised.

I dont understand why anyone has to get permission to try to use whatever they have to clean this up.

If you THINK you can, let them try. How much damage could they do? Give everyone who wants a shot a few days to try, then onto the next guy.

Fucking red tape.
