The new wave of ICQ spam
 

I keep getting these messages from people supposedly in Germany asking me for help with their homework, I even "talked" to one to see what they were trying to sell, but after 20 messages exchanged, still nothing, WTF :1orglaugh

they are maybe trying to get your ip by sending you a file?

they just wanna be friendly..

I keep getting a couple a day with Russian font as usernames, not that it bothers me but its constantly every day of the week.

Well, maybe they really wanted to get some one and to chat with you;)

I get nothing but russian spam but I get lots of it. One time 36 in a single day, but so far no German spam. I guess your lucky ;)

I am lucky whit ICQ spam, i get few per year!

None have been German yet for me. Russian and Indian that's all get.

I have guys adding me with the message 'Denied buddy' with crazy Russian fonts and stuff. I always push deny but quite annoying. Happens every now and then.

How do you protect yourself against ICQ spam with pidgin?
