Many will vote George H. W. Bush, because it's the first they see when they read the list, but they intend to vote for George W. Bush instead.

In hindsight I probably shouldn't have included Obama, as he is still in office.

For example: I am sure Clinton would have gotten way more negative votes if this poll was conducted during his term, as the right HATED him when he was the president.

People tend to hate their president while they are in office, and then evaluate their contributions more even-handedly afterwards.

As Obama has yet to complete his term, I should not have included him.

In future hindsight he may have been terrible, or he may have been great. It is too early to know, as we can not look back upon the effect he has had overall.

Oh well...

I voted for Obama. Although he is not quite the worst on that list yet, I'm sure he will be by the end of his term.

I remember life being nice and easy during the Bill Clinton years. Jobs were plentiful, inflation was low, you can buy a shitstain stock like Netcom and make good money flipping it. Too bad it didn't last. It couldn't... looking back now.

Johnson is the guy that hooked the war machine to private big bis and opened the check book up to the 'underprivileged' i.e. lined is pockets with the Vietnam war and started the cycle welfare

both bush presidents both started wars.

Nixon took the US off the gold standard. It was the singular "gift that keeps on giving" decades after the fact. Indeed, a lot of the bullshit the world faces now can be traced to the abandonment of the gold standard.

If it wasn't for Jimmy Carter I wouldn't be in this great country, so even though I've disagread with his politics. He is the best one in my book.

I didn't vote, but Eisenhower is the only person listed who is worth a shit..

So I'd vote for all of the others for an essential tie.. reason being, the predecessor always continued or worsened the BS the guy before him started, with only a few minor exceptions.

Presidents are victims/beneficiaries of what's handed to them, Obama has been handed a complete mess. He appears to be in over his head and will be a one term president unless the Republicans shit all over themselves and can't find a decent candidate. which is very possible.

Kennedy, gets rated highly for no apparent reason other than he was assasinated and was young - other than the Bay of Pigs what did he do? What would have the Vietnam War been like if Kennedy had gone two terms?

Reagan and Clinton will continue to be lionized.

Kennedy had a major charisma, that's why people remember him, kind of like Bill Clinton, those were "people's presidents" attracting even people who don't usually give a shit about politics

I doubt Vietnam would end up differently, McNamara might be one of the smartest people in the history yet he failed completely

It's estimated that about 2 tons of explosives in average were wasted to kill one Vietkong

It's the same thing as now with Afghanistan - make an overkill, invest heavily, make a major blow and then pray that it works out

No one has the balls to make it, if it wouldn't work out the public is gonna start riots, yet it would be a better solution then making it half assed for 10 years and waste billions of dollars

Obama got 25% of the vote and he's only been in office for 18 months, let try this again after 4 years compared to Bush's 8 years he was in office.

Both of them left far bigger messes for their successors to deal with than the ones they inherited from their predecessors. In Shrub's case massively so.
