who's got a 3-D TV??

Anyone have any of the new 3-D TV's that came out? Everytime I goto BestBuy the glasses are busted or the demo TV isn't setup so I never get to demo the 3-D.

ArsewithClass 06-15-2010 02:33 PM

Watched a demo & a friend watched through the glasses... Can just imagine mum & dad just wanting to watch a bit of news & having to wear goggles, lol.

No point until they can do 3d tv without glasses.

Scott McD 06-15-2010 02:35 PM

Don't see the point to be honest.

I'm happy enough to sit and watch in HD with a big screen...

That's what I think too, but when is that ever going to happen? I guess the 3-d would just be for movies and stuff, you can watch the regular non 3-D stuff like any other TV, just gives you the extra option.

Nicky 06-15-2010 02:38 PM

I was thinking of getting one but fuck It's an extra 3 grand+ out and with this months sales so far It's not gonna happen lol. As Scott say I can for sure live with my regular big screen HD for now....

fatfoo 06-15-2010 03:13 PM

I never got that 3D TV. I settle for a 2D screen.

TrainWreckContent 06-15-2010 03:17 PM

qwe 06-15-2010 03:23 PM

people who keep bashing 3d tv either never tried it, don't got money to get it, or tried it on a shittiest model in BestBuy... i got new 58" plasma 3d tv and 3d monsters vs aliens movie is amazing (i would never watch that cartoon in 2d).. can't wait for 3d movies that are coming out... my buddy was talking shit as well how it's useless bla bla, then he came with his girlfriend and his girl was glued to tv for like an hour, he wasn't talking shit after

96ukssob 06-15-2010 03:27 PM

Theo 06-15-2010 03:32 PM

i watched some clips on an Acer 3D laptop with nvidia card n' they were really great.

selena 06-15-2010 03:34 PM

Ironically enough, I am hooking mine up as we speak. I got this one.

mynameisjim 06-15-2010 06:54 PM

Isn't monsters vs aliens the only 3d movie that's out?

That's what the sales guy told me about a month ago when I looked at them so I'm in no hurry to pick one up.

I use a 3d monitor for PC gaming though and it looks pretty cool on some games.

wtf, $2,7k. I looked at that one in a value store here in Sweden, would cut me back $4k :disgust

GrouchyAdmin 06-15-2010 08:43 PM

all you need is an old CRT TV and to misalign the guns.

you can get a 3d tv for free if you don't mind waiting for garbage day.

Peace 06-15-2010 09:11 PM

I have Philips 3D no Glasses screen but too little content to watch )))

VHNet 06-15-2010 09:50 PM

I have a 3-inch cock if that helps?

2MuchMark 06-15-2010 10:34 PM

Time to suck it up, guys.. 3D is Comin' at ya (ha!), really fast. Lots of movies released this year were in 3D, and some older movies are being re-rendered in 3D (wish I knew how that worked). Xbox has 3D games on the way, and the first two Full-time HD 3D Networks are coming to a dish near you this year: ESPN and The Discovery Network (http://news.discovery.com/tech/tv--c...-going-3d.html).

You KNOW that the first 3D porn titles will fly off the shelves no matter what the price. Early adopters loves content for their toys.

FYI, 3D TV's show standard 2D content as well.

That salesman should be fired. Here's a SHORT list of 3D movies:

Avatar 3D (2009)
Toy Story 2 (1999) re-rendered in 3D (2008)
Up (2009)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Superman Returns (2006) (Don't bother - boring!)
Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Beowulf (2007)
Clody with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)
Monsters Vs. Aliens (2009)
Clash of the Titans (2010) (2D movie re-rendered into 3D - probably sucks but who knows?)
My Bloody Valentine (2009)
The Final Destination (2009)
StreetDance 3D
Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (Woo!)
Ghosts of the Abyss (2003) (CRAP!)

TRON LEGACY 3D WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (This Christmas!)

Saw VII (2010)
Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006)

etc..!

mattz 06-15-2010 11:11 PM

Yes, without the glasses would be nice. I would probably wait a few years until they get it perfected.

Agreed. But at present, the usual channels can be seen on the 3dtv's what ever the make, but then does the usual picture for those extra thousands way up for your 3d movie once a year :2 cents:

I wonder how many TVs like that had been sold by now?

I didn't pay that much for it. I got it on sale at Dell.

DirecTV started a 3D channel this week. Should be interesting. I did not originally buy any glasses, but they are on the way to me now.

Me too! I want it, but don't want to rush anything. Waiting for better technology and better prices. Remember when I bought my first 50" plasma for $3,500. Was "just" HD-ready. Few months later they sold full HD, better "everything" for half the price :1orglaugh So, I am waiting a little bit longer to get my 3D TV. But I WILL get one :D

Just got one of those too. Fucking great!! The clips fly out of the screen. 3D for PC's will be huge this coming year. The Nvidia Cards and 3D monitors are flying off of the shelves right now. 3D very big for gamers right now.

And all of these gamers do jerk off and will be looking for adult content.:2 cents:

Can somebody explain to me why I need to by a fucken new TV to watch 3D with glasses???
Because HD 3D is a totally different technology.

you need 120 hz over two channels, so 240 hz.

WOW so less than $2700? That would set me back about $4500 here in the UK.

Mr. E 07-09-2010 04:18 AM

Give it a year, they will be down to under $2k. You couldnt touch a blu ray player for under $500 a year ago, now you can get em for $150.

Ethersync 07-09-2010 05:02 AM

I've looked at a lot of 3D TVs. They look fairly cool, but they give me a damn headache.

Sosa 07-09-2010 05:54 AM

I'm actually looking at getting a Samsung 55" 3d tv and then putting a couple of Samsugn 46" LED tv's on the sides next to it. Will be a great football season with three games going at once and people over.

I remember when I was kid we would get the cheesy red/blue glasses from beckers for $1 and watch 3d movies on our old 40" radiation king tv with a 22" screen.
because 3D is great effect which worth to watch )

Ethersync 07-09-2010 07:18 AM

So basically its just a clearer image.
No, not really clearer at all. Just 3 dimensional and a bit darker.

I'm steering clear of 3D for now because I get a headache watching it for more than 10 minutes, the viewing angle is limited, I will need a bunch of extra glasses in case one is broken or if friends are over, there is very little content available in 3D, and I'm not sure that this current incarnation of 3D will last.

BlackCrayon 07-09-2010 07:18 AM

i knew someone who bought one, they took it back the next day.

thickcash_amo 07-09-2010 07:26 AM

I would definitely like to go to someones house that had one and watch a movie, but for everyday tv watching.....I don't see the need for 3-D

MrBottomTooth 07-09-2010 07:43 AM

Too expensive right now and too early. I used to be an early adopter but I've been burned too many times.

No sense paying outrageous prices for something right now when it will work better and cost about $1000 less by Christmas 2011.

I'm going to make due with my current TVs until then.

Not a lot less, but some. :) It was $2429. I believe it is cheaper on Amazon, but I am not positive on that.

Peace 08-07-2010 09:49 AM

Need info how many tv's sold and will be sold Any idea?

A-n-D-r-E-S 08-07-2010 11:06 AM

I have enough troubles finding the remote, I think I'll have the same trouble finding the goggles... HD tv is ok for now!

gmr324 08-07-2010 11:35 AM

Would be expensive to have all the friends over to watch a game in 3D with all those glasses. I think the jury is still out

Seth Manson 08-07-2010 01:46 PM

I plan on getting one as soon as there is more 3d programming and 3d movies to buy. only 3d movie I see is the monsters vs aliens and I only see 1 channel on DirecTV. I'd love to see some sports in 3d or some stuff on Discovery channel.

Imagine Shark Week or one of those survivor reality shows in 3d. Or the food network.

When does smellivision come out?
