Namecheap doesn't let us login to our account, am i in trouble now?

Never had this anywhere. Lot of high end names are in there, i did not break any rules that i know of, i never use my CC there either. Yet they have us blocked on Fraud suspicion, weird. Are they in need of money?

Ugh ...

You don't seem very angry about this.

Not yet. Untill they get ahold of my pension fund and don't allow me to get it back.

I have found namecheap live support to be VERY helpful. I let a friend's domain expire well past the redemption period because I thought it was on auto-renew and was out of town, and they were able to get the domain back for me at regular price. It was back in my account within 5 minutes.

Naughty 06-16-2010 01:49 PM

Live support, gonna check that. TY.

Solved, sort of...

Your account has been locked due to a security alert. After one of your domains was listed for sale by a hacker (http://domainingroulette.com/) and somebody tried to get access to your domains through our live support, we temporary blocked access to the account and domains.

The account has been unlocked now. Please login there and 1) change password 2) enable Security Notifications. The domains are currently locked (except those that have expired for you to be able to reactivate them if necessary). If there are no urgent changes to be made, we strongly advise to let us keep domains locked for some time. However they can be unlocked any time upon your request.

We are sorry for all the inconveniences this issue may have caused you and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Suckers, i know what name, they might have just bought it if they contacted me, it is for sale for not much.

Naughty 06-16-2010 02:02 PM

Might as well post the report:

Live and learn.

Namecheap is good. Directnic, though a little pricey, is great as far as customer service goes (phone support was answered within minutes and extremely courteous and efficient the last time I used it -- they also spoke perfect English and seemed local). Just whatever you do DO NOT use GoDaddy. Transfer everything you have with them away ASAP. You'll be glad you did eventually I guarantee it.
