58% of Americans support Arizona's immigration law
 

A new Washington Post/ABC poll finds that 58 percent of Americans support Arizona's tough new immigration law. Support is strongest among Republicans and independents, and least strong among Democrats, especially minority Democrats.

Still, the support is qualified in some respects. Even as a majority of Americans back the measure ? which gives law enforcement officers authority to check the immigration status of people they have stopped or arrested ? 57 percent of Americans also favor giving illegal immigrants who are already in the country a chance to become legal, if they pay fines and meet other requirements. Almost half of Republicans polled also support the path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

As for AZ's immigration law, I support it, 100%. I'm tired of all these clowns pulling the race card. It's a solution to a big problem.

Don't speak English? Driving around without a license? Don't understand the law? Then you're likely here illegally; you deserve to be asked about your immigration status, and if you're in-fact here illegally, you deserve to be detained and deported. We have laws for a reason. :2 cents:

60 years ago way over 58% of Ameircans agreed interacial marriage should be illegal. So therefor they MUST be right.

Of course they do. Border security and illegal immigration are a huge issue for any country not just the US. Anyone who is in favour of going soft on illegals entering the country needs to finish their magical unicorn ride in nevernever land and get their head out of their ass.

58% percent of all Americans are here legally. The other 42% shouldn't be allowed to vote in the poll because they aren't Americans and are here illegally.

If it passes constitutional muster, who are we to tell them how to live their lives in Arizona? If you don't vote there, you got no say in the matter.

Did participants of interracial marriages not pay taxes, rape, traffic children, sell drugs, murder, kidnap, drive without licenses/insurance, avoided reporting crimes for fear of deportation, etc, etc? Did they live completely off the grid blatantly breaking laws they did not even understand?

Let me guess what your response is going to be, something along the lines of "White citizens have committed those same crimes, so it's okay".
