Today is 1 month since i quit smoking...:)

I was always on 2- 2,5 packs a day,when i drink it jumps to 4 packs....

last week of smoking i was on 3 packs per day..
and then i started to take Zyban....
after 8 days of smoking i just stopped...like i never smoked before...

Now when i drink, offcourse i want to smoke but then i use cuban cigars:)

During the day when i have crises i use electric cigar...so...desire to smoke is still strong but i really think i will never ever again use real cigs....i fell so much better, and can do way more on my trainings...it's amazing..now i just need to stay strong :thumbsup

Give me some tips ex-smokers:) When desire totally stops?:)

ProG 06-17-2010 03:35 PM

I can't believe how some people can smoke. Even a few years ago when I was smoking cigarettes every single day I couldn't handle more than maybe 4-5 of them a day. It makes me cringe when someone tells me they smoke more than a pack a day.

Good luck quitting. Don't look back.

Is there any satisfaction using electric cigar, or no?
You can get some sticks and roll them between fingers :)

Congrats! It's the best thing you will ever do for yourself! :thumbsup

fatfoo 06-17-2010 04:00 PM

Congratulations.
Desire stops when you drink water.

Good for you Lykos!!! A trick that I know a few people swear by is when you get the craving, either brush your teeth or gargle with minty mouthwash. Not sure if its the mint or the distraction but I hear it helps combat those cravings.

excash 06-17-2010 06:43 PM

grats, I'm still smoking...

ruff 06-17-2010 07:22 PM

If you have made it past 30 days you're good. It will be five years for me this November and, believe me, I could light up in an instant! The craving never stops. But it was so hard to quit, I will never smoke again until I am on my deathbed. You've got it licked now, just lose the cigars and electric cigs. You've got to lose the nicotine habit.

Congrats Lykos :thumbsup

My wife quit smoking the day she found out she was pregnant. And as a double wammy she quit caffeine too... That first week, I should've worn body armor cause wasn't the nicest person in the world to deal with. But she pulled through and hasn't had any of either since.

Hard to believe it's 2010 and people still smoke.

Congrats on the quit, stay with it.

TeenCat 06-17-2010 11:47 PM

congrats mate, keep up the good work and let us know in one year, that will be the checkpoint :winkwink:

John-ACWM 06-18-2010 12:21 AM

It will get better after 3 or 4 months. Stay strong!

Czech 06-18-2010 12:21 AM

Congrats and keep it up! I stopped smoking 2 years ago it is an uphill battle but it can be done simply remember this, the craving for a cigarette only lasts for 3 minutes at a time try to do something else to take your mind off it for those 3 minutes, that?s the way I beat the habit.

KillerK 06-18-2010 12:58 AM

dude just smoke, you know you will go back to it. If you smoked that much.

Life is short, you might as well enjoy it.

I guess it's the trouble of brushing your teeth again. hehe

TeenCat 06-18-2010 03:12 AM

btw i stopped smoking last sunday, from 20-40 per day and many years of smoking ... but i am making those breaks from time to time, few weeks or month clean, but then the stupid day come, some party or something, and i take that shit to my fingers just for fun, but there you go again ... :) but the breaks are not about some preparation and other replacements, one day you have to wake up, and you know it is that day, day when you erase smoking from your brain for some time ... :winkwink: have luck! :)

Congrats mate! I know its not easy, i've tried and failed many times now.

Horny Joe 06-18-2010 09:17 AM

WAY TO GO!! I love it when I hear about people quit smoking!! It has been 1 year and 8 months since I quit. Honestly, it was not that hard! I tried to smoke new years eve.. it tasted like SHIT! Now, I can take a cigar when I drink cognac, but it kind of taste like ashtray so I don't smoke much....

thickcash_amo 06-18-2010 09:30 AM

Congrats!! I found that when I quit, my addiction was more towards having something in my hands, so when I stopped I replaced it with having a pen to chew on or something....it worked ;)

Tom_PM 06-18-2010 09:34 AM

Congrats, Lykos.

I quit, I guess a couple of years ago now.. and there are still some oddball times where I catch myself in "the reach" for a smoke! It's so weird. I dont really want one, but things get so tied in with that habit it's not even funny.

You may want to step up any exercise a bit now too, because you really do tend to put on weight when you quit.
