Some awesome domains but you won't sell much. You might sell those 2k$ pieces.

Reserve = minimal price you want. Sex.com is 4835738947x better domain then tits.com, it has estimated 10x higher type-in traffic.

So if sex.com was sold for 8-12 million $ (different sources). Tits.com are worth high xxx,xxx$.
I say 750k - 1M. And that's what's domain worth, that's maximum where people will bid.

If your reserve is 5x more then anybody is willing to pay, guess what you'll gonna sell.

Combination of forum posts & phone calls is sure path to hell. I bet you'll be telling people here that you've got higher bids.

Even if I had that kind of money, I would not spend it on just 1 domain name! I'd rather register an $8 domain name and spend $4 million on advertising and link purchasing, will gimme much more then tits.com will ever give

That is the theory for some, but it can go either way. There are plenty of success stories and failures on both sides of the fence. One thing remains constant though- the high value domain will still be high value regardless of the success of the subsequent business, and the hand registered domain will still be worth around $8 ish.

The traffic for type-ins has grown year after year as well, so once your $4 mil runs out, so will your media buys...

Please give me the 2 minutes I just wasted of my life back... really a pointless thread with a deceiving thread title that hardly an 'auction' with those obnoxious reserves

That's very true too. But you are not mentioning any type-in traffic numbers at all.
Though naturally I expect some on a name like tits.com, as you state, it's an important factor in making the asking price, so I think it should be mentioned too.

Make it more attractive then just a price tag is my :2 cents:

5Mill tits.com ... curious to know if anyone still buys .com domains nowadays for amounts like that ? ... and working on the assumption you had tons of traffic to push to it and were some uber guru how long would it take to see a return on that investment ? .... there are plenty of businesses with top names selling in the 7-8 figure range. there are domains selling as standalone assets in the 7-figure range as well. a good resource for tracking domain name sales is http://DNJournal.com

how long it would take to see a return on investment of course is very difficult to predict. just farming the natural type-in's would be a good start-- developing the ultimate tits network/site etc. would be next level with the category killer on one's team.
