I just upgraded ICQ to version 7.2 but with the program there were loads of sneaky "extras" installed without any warning - toolbar, default search engine changed, IE and FF home pages etc. I uninstalled the whole thing now.
Does anyone know a safe way to install just ICQ without all the crap that comes with it?

when it installs there is a link that you hit that says "custom" or some shit and all that sneaky shit is behind it so just uncheck all those boxes and it installs fine without all the extras.

They're just trying to milk out the last money from their dying software.

I think before you install if customized it first because that's what I did.

There are many alternative clients supporting ICQ protocols :)

looked at screenshots of new icq and decided to stick with 6.5

If they could keep the russian spammers at bay, they might get a few extra years of use out of it... thats what they should work on and not fucking tweaking size of fonts.

Love astra so far just hate the look its hot looking but hard to read only to skins available now but the older have shitloads so cant wait for new oes to pop up hopefully something dark and easier on the eyes :) Otherwise its great :thumbsup
