How exactly did South Africa get the WC?

With all the rape that goes on there, I would think that FIFA would want to protect their image.

Basically, and in a few lines, Blatter needs the African Votes to stay as President of FIFA.

In return, he gave the first World Cup to the African continent.

Sports organizations aren't exactly known for their anti-rape activism. I would be shocked to find that rape was a factor in the decision at all. The whole world watched the Olympics in China, and they don't exactly have a good track record with women's rights and safety or human rights in general. Don't see why this would be any different.

yeah but thats the Chinease govenment, their population are not know for violent crime. You would think that FIFA, knowing that there would be a massive amount of supporters flooding the country chosen would take into account tourist safety
