The adult business is in DANGER OF COLLAPSING, and not because of the crisis!!
Open letter to all producers and all affiliates of the adult business.
The ALARM bells are ringing THE ADULT BUSINESS IS IN DANGER OF COLAPSING, THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF THE CRISIS! I am Denys Defrancesco the CEO of ddfprod.com. I am sounding the alarm bells before its too late, as in less than two years our businesses will be dead because of who? Because of what? It is our fault, we have created the largest freely available pornographic content on the planet, so why pay to see our content? For 12 years I have created promotion material there are free galleries, porn tubes, exchanging content with the 'share' sites , Google or Yahoo group etc. .. Due to our affiliates consumption who always demand more and more (we are currently killing the goose that lays golden egg ). By giving our surfers uncensored content we've created the largest free site of all time. Put end to end all the free sites of affiliates, all free galleries, all trailers? online, can you imagine the length of a film or style. CHANGE YOUR HABITS IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO EARN YOUR LIFE IN THE ADULT INDUSTRY- AND MAKE MONEY AGAIN! We could fix this with a little discipline, believe me, and start to censor your free galleries, restore the desire to see more by accessing the member?s area of your sites. The golden age could return and there is enough space for everyone, lets clean up the Net together. I am aware that this will not happen overnight but I everybody?s responsibility to begin to censor their new galleries (put only soft content) and remove from your servers the old hardcore galleries, the affiliates must reduce their archives, BELIEVE me you will not lose your traffic, you'll just "boost" your income. I await all your comments and suggestions. |
not reading all that.
|
What you say is true, but it will never happen.
|
so the problem is we market our product, & the solution is to pull back marketing to make money again.
mmmmmmmk.... |
so if all tube sites charge memberships fees, would that solve the issue?
|
In fact, there's nothing new in what he said, and monopolizing every actor in the AB is a colossal work.
I cannot see how to tell an actor to play this game, if he will loose money by doing it. |
Yey!! TGP II Rises again to do......nothing. :(

and the above idea was tried and died it was called tgp2 |
I remember this thread from 'pond main board like 10 yrs ago. People made the same arguments. I mean EXACTLY the same.
1) if you try to prevent hardcore from getting out, someone else will come along and use it. 2) it's too late. |

OR Make affiliate programs invite only If you think about it, all tubes, tgps, torrent sites are living off such model Only Rapidshare sites are not, so this type will remain a problem. |
As true as it might be it'll never happen unfortunately. Music and porn are things you don't need to pay for online but thankfully people will still spend money on both.

The industry will not recover after the recession. Most of those who stopped buying, will not come back. The industry will not recover if by some act of God all pirated content is taken down. Some sponsors will supply what ever the big Tubes ask for. The only way for the industry to recover is to win back customers. Mostly we sell a product, at a price, the customer rejects. All the talk about what the customer wants from sponsors and affiliates is BS. If it were true the customer would still be buying. But what the heck this industry has been kidding itself for years even when it was obvious it could only survive if the customer had no options. </rant> |
Let's call it TGP2! It'll ROCK! Is everyone on board this time?
Seriously though, you've stated the problem very well. A solution we can all agree on remains to be found. :( |
Ugh, I remember tgp2. Honestly. A useless but well intentioned idea.
The ONLY viable way to ACTUALLY prevent content from getting out to people is to STOP SELLING OR GIVING IT TO ANYONE WITH A CREDIT CARD. hah. How hard was that? Sometimes it doesnt matter if everyone agrees. People dont usually choose to regulate themselves strictly, do they? |
it's black hole stadium now, and you can't prevent it, it will colapse
|
The porn is already out there, it's too late to try and censor shit...
You have to follow the times... there are PLENTY of opportunities out there and PLENTY of ways to capitalize on the new pornscape... This type of thing happens in just about every market in some way or another. |
lol, if every person that read this post got rid of his bulk free content on all his sites, there would still be 99.5% of the free porn sites running the same amount of free shit.
If 900,000 of the porn sites went back to not showing pussy on free areas, the 900,001st would and they would get 90% of the porn traffic very quickly. Adapt or die trying, cause trying to get people to pull down free content won't work at all. p.s. the free porn has already killed the old days, there's no going back, and yes that was the problem. |

I find it ironic that for all their attempts, the religous right and the government won't be the ones that take down pornography. It will be porn itself, coupled with the insatiable appetite for free content that broadband and the tubes enables. |
I'll forward this to my competitor who is building a free site of some sort nearly every day.
|
Great idea! You start first.
|
i thought common sense went out the window when tgp2 was tested?

Move your content/sales ability to various technologies and stay on new technology as it happens.... porn is every changing and every moving, it has always been that way.
Mobile is one example, already mobile porn can easily out sell the standard Internet porn sites and it's growing at a rates that exceed the original Internet growth. With only 5% of the traffic market, it's able to easily out produce the normal 'net sales - that's remarkable. Yes, that requires you actually sell the mobile porn to affiliates - something 99% of the companies don't actually do with the normal sites they have. This doesn't mean ignore the normal Internet, we shouldn't ignore any medium we can cheaply move onto. But it does mean the business is changing again, much like it did in the mid 90's to the 2000 range - which killed most of the mainstream porn companies because they didn't move with the technology. Of course they blamed piracy and free porn online back then too, people can get our stuff to easy, blah blah blah... suckers! |
I don't know what you're talking about I'm still getting my affiliate checks, I just have to work harder at it.

Go ask 5 friends what their favorite adult sites are.
I recently did this experiment and got a mixture of the following: Redtube, youporn, youjizz, xtube, etc. Good luck with that. |

congrats on the 1,000,000th thread about the same subject! :thumbsup
Sadly, you're also the 1,000,000th posting the same thread and not having a solution to the problem, so we've to forfeit the prize :( as many posters said, you can enforce... I don't know, say 200000, 500000 or whatever amount of sites to not giving the goods for free. Everybody else will keep (well, in fact grow enormously) the traffic and, somehow, the money. Now, let's say there's some kind of union or global awareness or Age of Aquarius or whatever and 100% of adult sites decide not to give everything for free. Then you'll find 10x the amount of existing sites in the form of individual users sharing porn on peer to peer or whatever media people wants. Close all peer to peer, all file storage (piracy) sites, all forums, everything known to these days.... and people will find another way to circumvent this. Does it mean adult business is doomed? No. However, only professionals will remain, there's no more room for basement kids making easy money, or part-time porn fans, not even l33t haxor kids. When somebody mentioned the word "marketing" in this thread I fell off my chair laughing (yes you fucker, you owe me a new hip!!! ). Without exaggeration, I'd bet 95% of adult companies (even established companies) has no marketing professionals nor a slight idea on what marketing is. And I'm saying 95% because I'm willing to cut adult business some slack, realistically speaking I'd say adult companies working on real marketing strategies (whether they're using marketing pros or they have people that knows it intuitively) must be below 100, probably around 50-60, no much more than that. Companies using data research, technological trending, branding and such... probably no more than 25-30. See, the idea about "marketing" in adult is salesmen and aff representatives. End of story. Although they're needed, they're just the tip of the iceberg. Adult biz is at least 2-3 years behind in technology, 5-6 in marketing trends. How do you want an aff rep to work with business models that are already dead? So let's get real. The very own definition of marketing could give you the idea you need to solve the equation, at least a clue or a starting point. I just took the very basics and already have several ways to override this, and currently working on one of these roads, once it's clogged.... I'll have another road and so on. Do your homework and it will pay. Open a book. Inform yourself. It pays much more than trolling in GFY :2 cents: |
Everyone tries to out do the other by giving more free porn away, somehow thinking this will result in more sales when in fact it does the opposite.
This is what happens when you have so many people trying to run a business with NO business experience or even any idea of how to run one. |

I read your post and I think you are absolutely right. We have already released extremely soft-core or non-nude free content out there as teasers, and nothing more, and it works very well for us. Of course, users have a choice of millions of girls out there, but when they like 1 particular girl, for whatever reason, they constantly return and are more than happy to pay for some true one-on-one time, to enjoy live, nude content, that can't be found anywhere else. I agree 100% with what you said but unfortunately site owners and content creators will always try to 1-up the others in the grab for eyeballs and clicks. |

Just sayin'...Knowing a niche down to the greatest details and knowing EXACTLY what makes the lovers of that niche's dicks get hard beats the hell out of some marketing guru and his stats and charts and no knowledge of the niche. This is porn, and we fulfill a need that is unique and special. This ain't selling televisions and cars. This is selling fantasy and sexual satisfaction. |
