the reason looting occurs in nola is due to the evacuations. the residential areas are protected by police (like where i live) however, in the heart of the city, they force evacuate most, what stays behind are people like the "looter guy" and they end up looting stores.... sad, but thats how it is when all the good people are forced to leave, and abide by laws, but criminals stay behind in the shadows.

funny pic, and looks similar to how it is down here. We put out "you loot, we shoot" signs too LOL but more for fun than reality.You can tell by the lack of flood water in the pic that that area is not evacuated or even in danger of real flooding. Hardly comparable to a dense city like nola with forced evacs.
