Just got a call from the police!
I sold my iPhone 3G on eBay knowing the old one would sell before my new iPhone was here. I wiped the phone in iTunes before shipping it. Apparently wiping the phone does not deactivate it and the person that bought my phone was texting some chick and harassing her to the point where she called the cops.
I had forwarded my mobile number to my home phone so when the cops called my mobile number it rang here. The cop was pretty cool about it after I explained it was not me texting from the phone and asked for all the info on the sale and who bought it. Remember to deactivate your number! You can always reactivate it on AT&T's website when your new phone arrives. |
uhm, why not just take the sim card out before selling it?
|
like pstation said, you sold it with the sim card in there? wtf?
|
Sure did. Now I know better!
|
Find out the girl's number and post it here.

And yes, when selling a phone you always take your number to the next phone, that includes the SIM :2 cents: |
Cops are very resourceful.
|
Damn, you NEVER let go of any SIM
Not even if you deactivate the number or card....that is like handing someone a deleted hard drive, you can recreate data on those. Tons of information stored. |

$170 wow I just bought a brand new 32gig 3gs from an At&T store for $199.. I broke my old one so I probably recieved some sort of discount pricing I guess. And yes I know the 4g was just released but I needed a new phone asap. and in a month or so Ill upgrade my sons original Iphone to the 4g give him my new 3gs and swap numbers.

I take it the purpose of this thread is to create a trail of evidence to "support" the fact that you are not the texter?
It's one thing to not take out the sim when selling a phone, but are you telling us the guy who bought the phone didn't actually check it worked by calling the phone? (remember the sim was redirected to your home phone) hmmmmmm doesn't add up, does it? chuckle, chuckle. |
