it has always been voluntary they cant force you to use a domain anymore than .org forces everyone to be a not for profit.

Instablocking is definitely in the future.

In a sense, .xxx domains are like those city ordnances that relegated strip bars and sex shops to warehouse districts and other specially designated areas. Less foot traffic.

The industry is so small now, affiliates gone, affiliate programs closing left and right, x sales gone, who the F needs a .xxx? I'd conjecture it will suffer the same fate as a .info etc.

Nothing will change, .com will still have all the same porn sites on it and .xxx will just be a place for squatters to go hoping for the errant address entry to whitelabel.

You have the right to apply for domains in .xxx that you already own in .com,
.net or another TLD, such as a country code TLD.

I don't think we need it, but I think it will pass.

When ICANN relaxed the rules for creating a TLD a few years ago they pretty much opened the door for this to happen.

.xxx is just going to be another crappy TLD just like .info and .biz

So hurry up and register your .xxx extension everyone!

I don't know why anyone in the business puts any faith in them at all. They are totally useless. Always have been, always will be.

Sooner or later ...personally I don't like the idea of more tlds but ICANN and registrars want badly new tlds so, we are doomed for new tlds.
