Detox Yourself

It's been proven that chemicals in modern foods stay in your body and make you feel bloated, sluggish and "toxified". That's why it's not a good, but a GREAT idea to do a detox diet once a year. All it takes is one week and you'll feel energized, fresh and even less grumpy (and less eager to start fights on GFY).
So here's what you need to do for just 7 days in a row:

-drink 2+ litters of water a day. Add the juice of 2 whole lemons to each litter of water.
-stay away from caffeine (tea, coffee, chocolate, Red Bull, etc.)
-do not eat: meats of any sort, wheat in any form or fashion, sugars or premade, prepackaged, precooked foods, dairy (milk, cheese, butter or eggs) in any way.
-eat plenty of: fresh fruits and vegetables, potatoes, rice, oatmeal, beans, nuts, seeds, etc.
-season your foods with: olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, chilis (fresh jalapenos and other types of fresh chilis you can buy at ethnic places), and lemon.

that's it! Let me know how you feel once you're done with your detox diet!

Does that grass shot drink help at all?

Sly 06-28-2010 07:35 PM

I'll pass and try to eat decent year-round.

Besides not eating the wheat, those are all things people should try to do all throughout the year.

EliteWebmaster 06-28-2010 10:42 PM

Exercise daily, I run about 2 miles every day, drink lots of fresh juice (not store bought but from my juicer), 2 raw eggs, and have sex (minimum of 30 minutes each time) at least 3 times a week.

I never felt stronger and it's definitely healthy :)

nothing is bad for you just so you know. starches are great for your body and should be consumed regularly. beans, rice, and potatoes are all something that should be a regular part of anyone's diet. meats as well, however beef products should be taken in moderation. poultry / fish / eggs are a better source of proteins. beef can be bad on your system, and also tends to "linger" in your body compared to the other protein choices.

says american diet..

starches are horrible for your body.. eat what your ancestors would have eaten, aka wild fruits, berries, veggies, meat

beans is the worst in that list, followed by potatoes, then rice.

im not gonna argue though.. im a low carb advocate, ive read too much to know we werent supposed to eat these many carbs, hence why we are all fucked..

Spunky 06-28-2010 10:54 PM

So basically eat raw veggis and water

too many carbs is bad, carbs are not bad. the problem is most foods are laden with empty carbs, and too many of them. it's not about the carbs themselves. you're one of those people who instead of going for a better holistic approach to your diet, you tunnel vision yourself into one little facet of the diet.

specially. because since i guarantee you're so gun-ho about the low-carb diet. that you've basically gotten your body so used to the offset diet, you could give yourself diabetes overnight by binging on some carbs.

i would advise staying away from giving nutritional advice if you're going to make bad blanket statements like "rice is bad" and make it out like carbs are the only factor to a good diet. advice like yours is like going to "generic local book store" and buying "insert latest diet craze book title here" and then blabbing about it all over the internet like gospel.

no what u eat is ur business, i decide to eat what makes me feel good..

all i know is since i reduce my carbs and INCREASED FATS i've felt fucking great..

our body DOES not need carbs, just so u know, but we NEED fats for 1000 reasons.. the little carb u need ur body can make as needed..

Im not going based on any diet, im just going based on if i cant eat that shit raw, im not gonna eat it, period... goodluck with your diet, and goodluck with mine,

p/s ive also started eating meat/eggs raw, only grassfed/pasture raised though

yes... our bodys need carbs. you even state two seconds later they do in the same sentence. just as i said twice before now - how much, and what kind is what matters.

and the same as before it doesn't just matter if you increase fats, or decrease fats. it matters what kind of fats, and how much of which you increase and decrease.

and yes, good luck with your diet. i hope you enjoy never eating shellfish or poultry again.

never liked seafood, nor poultry..

No we dont need carbs, i said IF WE DO our body can make them.. anyway lets stop arguing dude, everyone has what works for them.. u dont know if ur diet is the correct diet.. only god can tell.. realize at some point we had no fire, nor agriculture..

so no rice,beans, nada

they had wild game meat, fruits, nuts, berries... anyway ciao

Nice, going to try it someday :)

Sarah_Jayne 06-29-2010 04:40 AM

There is some useful stuff in there even if doing it all together and only for a short time sounds extreme to many. The water with lemon is a good purifier and limiting meat and what intake helps with bloating too. It just doesn't have to be as strict as saying none for most people.

czarina 06-29-2010 02:17 PM

It's only for a week, not something to live by the rest of your life. I did it about a year ago and felt great, loved every minute of the day.
I'm planning on doing it again now in July. Personally I'm in favor of eating lots of meats and raw fresh foods, and against pre-packaged stuff, but I do end up eating crap because of eating out a few times a week.

Replace beef by bison :thumbsup

MovieMaster 06-29-2010 02:42 PM

I replace my meats by eating liberals.... eliminate co2 emissions 1 liberal at a time...

Jarmusch 06-29-2010 02:44 PM

Wouldn't a 7-day water only fast be more effective?

ottopottomouse 06-29-2010 02:52 PM

Your skin is going to absorb nastier things from perfume and make-up than anything you eat.

Elli 06-29-2010 02:54 PM

Soo...

the key is to shit yourself silly?

Why not just eat healthy all the time and get a bit of exercise regularly?

leedsfan 06-29-2010 02:57 PM

you should try the Ingram diet.

Beer 3-4 times a week.
Sex whenever you feel like it.
Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The odd bit of exercise and gym 4 times a week.
Lots of walking.

Works for me, and I feel fucking great!

ok for chilies.
I would use lemon juice instead of vinegar (balsamic vinegar is made in wooden barrel and natural wood is full of chemicals + some ethyl acetate because of alcohol and acetic acid)

mechanicvirus 06-29-2010 09:17 PM

I don't eat any protein, carbs or fats all I eat is air.

Coup 06-29-2010 09:20 PM

I sustain myself on a diet of dioxins

mechanicvirus 06-29-2010 09:21 PM

anyone who eats carbs or protein is an idiot. your body makes it by a process called proto-synthesizing. look it up and you'll be blown away. also the nutrition data is WRONG. the average person should only eat 500 calories a day, not 2000. way too many calories that just turns into stomach fat.

Coup 06-29-2010 09:23 PM

healing crystals are a great way to remove negative toxins from the body

I make sure I eat plenty of white rice. You never see any fat Asians, and that's what they've eaten for thousands of years.

As a carbon based life form we must subsist exclusively on limestone and dolomite.

This post is fucking hilarious. Explain to me how the human body magically creates carbs when it is fed fat and protein exclusively. I wanna hear this epic lesson in human biology.

Every keto diet I've ever heard of has carb ups of some sort.

Also, fruits (including berries) are mainly sources of carbohydrates.

mmcfadden 06-29-2010 09:31 PM

would a monthly enema do the trick?

As long as you put the juice of two whole lemons in it.
