Theyre the beeknees when it comes to starter sets. Durable and not too high nor low priced.

Im investing in some soon.

They perform excellent for the price and their CS is top notch. They have replaced lights and triggers for me past my warranty without even asking. One light I had under warranty and spilled soda all over it. Most other places would tell you their warranty doesnt cover stupid and that you are SOL. They not only sent me out a brand new light, they sent me a loaner to use till I got the new one. They are awesome.

They are made by a great company, Paul C. Buff. I actually shoot with White Lightening strobes, made by the same people, and have for almost 15 years. Top notch products and top notch support.

I have friends and partners who shoot with Alien Bees and they love them.

Fantastic lights. I had Profoto's before them, but for the price of a BULB for the Profotos you can get an entire new strobe with Alien Bees - made switching an easy choice!

I purchased mine 5 years ago and they are still going strong!

One of my closest friends Alan uses them. And he shot all of these pics with them and i have never heard him complain or have an issue with them.

I owned a set for a few years and loved them. They never let me down. I sold them last year when I went strobe-free, but they were awesome for what they did.

I used White Lightning strobes for years. Switched to another brand a few years ago after buying several new WL strobes and they all had consistency issues. I'd read the output with a handheld meter and it would fluctuate all over the place. I sent them in for repair and when they came back - had the same problem. I sold them all and went with a different "more consistent" although more expensive brand.

Unless your anal about your lighting and feel a need to finely control every aspect of it - you'll be fine with Paul Buff products.
