Renewed a good bunch of them yesterday too, to get a good meal or two in dollars saved for just renewing now instead of later during the year. Will go out and have a good meal and some nice wine for the money saved. :)

I have a rule, if they don't make the $ back they get dropped. Other than that, can't really argue with roi.

welcome to my world. with over 500 domains, every month we get domain renewal charges. At least it is no longer $100 a yr like in 1998..

Last day to renew them at the lower pricing, it will cost you an extra $100 if you wait till July.

I park a lot. Average earnings are between $10-$15 per year on an average domain. So about doubling the investment each year. And all the small sums counts and add up in the end. So to renew all the money makers for two or even three years before the prise raise is a sound investment given that they stay at least somewhat attractive. But they only need to make roughly about a dollar per month to be profitable, and there are many domains who qualify for that.

i pay twice that per year and all i get is a shitty little discount * that said my expirations are sprinkled all over so no big jaw drop.

i got bout 700 domains.. everytime i drop a bunch, i end up getting more

The amount of domains doesn't mean much, it's the quality that counts !

You should really look into getting your own registrar. Right now you can buy your own for about 20k. We bought our first a few years ago and it saved us a fortune.

A good 50 or so I bought like 8 years ago on a drunken night. I specifically wanted to buy good typo's. So I would type stuff like 'sex videos' as fast as i can to see how I would mess it up. I ended up with quite a few really nice ones with oe instead eo in videos. Stuff like that.
