Fake.

.

100% REAL

Here above is a great optical illusion photo taken of a Lufthansa 747-400 and a United Airlines 757-200 that were on simultaneous approaches to runways 28L and 28R at San Francisco (SFO).

The separation requirement for flying parallel and simultaneous approaches is 225 meters (738 feet). These two aircraft are at a safe distance for the approaches they
are each flying.

Due to the Lufthansa 747 being three times larger than the 757 plane and being slightly behind , gives us this incredible optical illusion.

BittieBucks 06-30-2010 07:27 PM

Hmmm...

Definetly fake...

Ace_luffy 06-30-2010 07:32 PM

they're clearly not paralel and this is not 225 meters. And I bet they won't allow such landing at once. If an accident happens, it would be biggest in history in casaulties and none airstrip want that tag. :)

Jakez 06-30-2010 11:04 PM

Pretty weird, at least shopped a bit? Even at 738ft apart wouldn't there be something in the pic that shows the sizes are a bit off? The windows look the same size and everything.

interesting pic

DateDoc 07-01-2010 07:16 AM

It is very real. Here is the link where I snagged the photo - http://www.airliners.net/photo/Unite...222/0652327/M/

N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.

And here is another pic for you from SFO :)

Bumping an old thread with a photo I just took of two cans next to each other:
http://bettercgi.com/tmp/100_1368.JPG

Without moving the cans, I then took another picture from a different angle:

In the absence of the original image, I feel compelled to simply reply with the word 'Poo'...

Ive been on a boeing 747, a very violent storm, watching the wings bounce & flex at least a couple of metre, maybe more.. If they reckon they can flex 6mtr, I can believe it... or they wouldnt send them out in storms.

Crazy, sounds unsafe shit, but its all good.

Scott McD 06-01-2011 01:00 PM

Well this thread was worth bumping...

Fake , this impossible ...

JamesGw 06-02-2011 09:24 AM

Depends on the size of the gray plane. It could be real if it's small.

That said, it looks like it has quite a few windows, so it's obviously a large plane and the picture is therefore likely fake.
