Useful Tool Series: Microwave Bacon Cooker

http://www.toxel.com/wp-content/uplo.../kitchen10.jpg

I know I'm not the only one who wish I can cook bacon without a frying pan and into the microwave. This contraption actually cooks lighter, leaner and healthier bacon - cooking racks allow fat to drip into exclusive deep base.

Would you buy it?

I wouldn't buy anything that was used to prepare any kind of meat in a microwave. From my experience it's never tasted remotely like it should.

It's just going to dry it out and make the only thing that can cure a vegetarian inedible.

Naechy 07-01-2010 09:57 AM

i think yes, only dry it out

its a microwave not a fucking dehydrator, microwave bacon tastes just fine, i been doing it for years just on a normal plate with some paper towels when i am in a rush

Microwave bacon is surprisingly successful. As Riddler says above, just place it between some paper towel and cook to your level of satisfaction.

I think bacon is tastier with more fat and I like to eat the dripping fat, too.

I bake bacon in the oven. Usually do a pound or so at a time because it will keep in the fridge for a while. I put a rack on a cookie sheet and lay the strips of bacon on the rack (allows the grease to drip down). Put it in a cold oven, turn to oven to 400 F, check it in 15 minutes. If it's not done to your liking, leave it in a bit longer.

Can also do it without the rack.. then when done remove it to paper towels to drain.

cooking bacon is an art, has to be just right, crispy and loaded with it's own fat, anyother way, nope
