I don't think drugs are the cure for mental illness, necessarily. People have problems in their lives they need to address, that is what causes depression. Drinking too much is often one of them. :upsidedow

Have you ever been around someone that is bipolar that isn't on meds? You might change your mind about them not needing medication :) Of course any good Psychiatrist will tell you that along with meds, counseling is needed as well.

Drinking too much is often an attempt to 'self medicate' by people suffering from mental illness such as bipolar and depression.
