Hot Tub Time Machine

Just saw this movie tonight on Pay Per View. If you haven't watched it yet check it out - VERY funny flick. The funniest movie I've seen in years!

fris 07-03-2010 09:22 PM

the hangover was funnier

Agreed, hangover had me laughing throughout, especially the Mike Tyson part as he sang "In the Air Tonight" following up with the punch :1orglaugh

Theo 07-03-2010 10:32 PM

it has some funny parts :)

Jakez 07-03-2010 10:36 PM

Liked it.

The Hangover is so damn overrated, Get Him To The Greek is 10x better.

Alky 07-04-2010 12:02 AM

i thought it was funny... but not the best i've seen in years.

Rick Diculous 07-04-2010 12:14 AM

Both movies gave me a pretty good laugh, but I have to agree that The Hangover was funnier

JustDaveXxx 07-04-2010 01:22 AM

I thought it was pretty good for what it was. And it was way better than i thought it was going to be. All and all I liked it.

FeelMyTube 07-04-2010 03:26 AM

is it about tubes?

georgeyw 07-04-2010 03:46 AM

Yeah, I love that movie.

Good laughs and don't forget all the awesome 80's tracks in it too!!

seeandsee 07-04-2010 04:09 AM

it's ok movie, not bad, not perfect but very ok

Chosen 07-04-2010 05:22 AM

Great movie, I laughed my ass off :thumbsup

mineistaken 07-04-2010 06:19 AM

Are you kidding? Its one of those comedies where you laugh maybe 1 or max 2 times per movie. Full of cliché "jokes".

tuffruff 07-04-2010 06:25 AM

I didn't think it was very good at all. The Wedding Singer was a 10 times better 80's retro flick

I agree. White there were a few moments that were pretty funny but overall they didn't carry the picture. I found it to be a dissapoint.

You know a movie sucks when you find yourself wishing it had more Crispin Glover. :1orglaugh

I agree. The movie had potential but it never happened. I really dont think its a movie I would watch twice.

justinsain 07-04-2010 07:29 AM

Rented it the other day and didn't like it that much.

I found it hard to believe the characters as a group hanging out and the banter between them wasn't quick, crisp and witty like the characters were in Superbad.

The plot had potential but it came off super cheesy to me and I don't care if they planned it that way or not. It didn't work for me. I did like the soundtrack and it sure brought back a lot of memories :upsidedow

The Hangover was much, much better. :thumbsup

I'd say HTTM is worth a rent if you can't find anything else on the shelf.

quiet 07-04-2010 08:08 AM

it was okay. and yep, the hangover, while not a great movie, was much better. i like the setting though, Fernie BC, where i am buying a new home :glugglug

karapandza 07-04-2010 08:18 AM

Funny movie... for my taste. Unlike some other so called comedies.

Really? Thats too bad... I thought it was great, and Rob Corddry (Who I thought was terrible in that Harold and Kumar sequal) stole the show. (The bathroom scene after the BJ? Come on THAT was funny...!)

As for but Crispen "Cripsy" Glover, I love that guy. He's so weird. Ever see "The Rivers Edge"? or "Willard"? The man is insane.

And true, The Hangover was funnier. The Wedding Singer was good too but isn't interesting enough for me to watch more than once.

LongBG 07-04-2010 08:22 AM

I can't say it was amazing, but it was decent.

Loch 07-04-2010 08:50 AM

I had hopes for that flick but absolutely hated it.
booooooring, predictable, poor jokes etc etc

Juicy D. Links 07-04-2010 08:58 AM

I liked it saw it in theatres and got in on Blu Ray

SykkBoy 07-04-2010 10:12 AM

I saw it and liked it. Not as funny as Get Him To The Greek, but I'll still probably pick it up on DVD...

clicker 07-04-2010 11:42 AM

Was funny. So was Get him to the Greek.

CaptainHowdy 07-04-2010 12:14 PM

Too much of an argument for a crap movie...

John-ACWM 07-04-2010 01:32 PM

Indeed was a good comedy! Good thing they make really good comedies.

bronco67 07-04-2010 04:37 PM

I loved the end credits. Not being sarcastic...it really was some great end credits.

You just described pretty much every Hollywood comedy made in the last 5 years. They don't make any movies worth even watching anymore. Every "comedy" movie made now was already done better in the 80s. It's all just focus-grouped, contrived, predictable crapola.

I recently saw about 60 minutes of that movie "I now pronouce you sam and larry" or whatever it was called (I was stuck in my doctors waiting room). Adam Sandler should be shot. What a horrid piece 'o garbage. Every cliche you could possibly imagine was packed into that movie and Sandler? He didn't act - he just mumbled and looked embarassed through the whole thing. Steve Buscemi - how sad to see him doing that crap after what he did in the Sopranos.

james_clickmemedia 07-04-2010 04:47 PM

Good movie worth checking out.

I thought that the Sarah Marshall one was great too.

I thought it was dull.

Hot Tub Time Machine is a lot of fun, especially if you grew up in the 80s probably.

My friend's little bro and his friend were squatting in the driveway scheming the other day and I told them they looked straight out of "River's Edge" and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I really liked the credits. I really got a kick of cusack pulling the fishbone shirt out of his suitcase too.

If you feel like going retro rent Tapeheads. It's kind of like a musical UHF- it's got Cusack, Tim Robins, Chicken and Waffles and the Swanky Modes. :thumbsup

2MuchMark 07-04-2010 08:48 PM

The closing credits were great.

Oh well, too bad to those of you who didn't like it. I found it lots of fun and really funny. They also all looked like they had a good time making it too.

Cradle 07-04-2010 09:17 PM

it was ok, thought it was gonna be better though

I watched it with someone born in the 90's and they didn't get half the jokes :pimp

Dtothex 07-05-2010 03:43 AM

Hangover and Hot Tub were on par for me. Looking forward to Get him to the Greek but have a feeling I'll be disappointed.

EliteWebmaster 07-05-2010 04:31 AM

Have to watch Get him to the Greek since the response to it have been good from you guys :)
