domain question

Hi guys,

I have only ever bought .com domains but I recently took advantage of a free domain promo and a $0.99 promo for .info domains and picked up two .info domains I plan on developing into blogs. Basically, can .info domains be just as good as .com domains for adult blogs? Thanks

No, you should really stick to .com

I just figured since one was free and the other was only 99cents, that it might be better then just using a subdomain?

Well for various reasons .com is simply king. IMO the search engines still take the extension into consideration and when you get a repeat audience to your website they will almost all type-in whateveryoursiteiscalled.com so it's just best to always make sure you have the .com

But you can still use those sites for good PR if you develop them well. They may not bring good traffic, but they can be of good use other ways.

I have Godaddy hosting and they make you use a container domain if you want to add additional domains under the same hosting account.

Me being the obsessive/compulsive person that I am, I like to have all of my stuff organized. So I use the .info domain as the container domain.

All of my .com's are subfolders on the same hosting account.

This is the only real use I have found for .info's for my own workflow. And I do find them rather useful for this purpose.

Disclaimer: I just woke up and have no idea if any of this makes any sense.

I would stick with .com even if you need to add words, .99 cents is a cheap investment and a .info will work with a blog. But when it is time to renew godaddy will charge you full price for the .info domain. So for the same price a .net or .org is 2nd and 3rd to the .com.

Search engine results don't seem rank .info and .me very well, but I have seen .us coming up more in results.
