domain question
Hi guys,
I have only ever bought .com domains but I recently took advantage of a free domain promo and a $0.99 promo for .info domains and picked up two .info domains I plan on developing into blogs. Basically, can .info domains be just as good as .com domains for adult blogs? Thanks |
No, you should really stick to .com

I just figured since one was free and the other was only 99cents, that it might be better then just using a subdomain?

But you can still use those sites for good PR if you develop them well. They may not bring good traffic, but they can be of good use other ways.

I have Godaddy hosting and they make you use a container domain if you want to add additional domains under the same hosting account.
Me being the obsessive/compulsive person that I am, I like to have all of my stuff organized. So I use the .info domain as the container domain. All of my .com's are subfolders on the same hosting account. This is the only real use I have found for .info's for my own workflow. And I do find them rather useful for this purpose. Disclaimer: I just woke up and have no idea if any of this makes any sense. |
I would stick with .com even if you need to add words, .99 cents is a cheap investment and a .info will work with a blog. But when it is time to renew godaddy will charge you full price for the .info domain. So for the same price a .net or .org is 2nd and 3rd to the .com.
Search engine results don't seem rank .info and .me very well, but I have seen .us coming up more in results. |
