Cybernet Expo July 8-10...Get Your Freak ON in San Francisco!!! (Pics/Vids)
For those attending the 2010 edition of the Cybernet Expo this week, welcome one and all to the City by the Bay.
LAJ and Conner from YNOT are pulling out all of the stops this year to produce yet another great conference/party in one of the premier cities in the world (and my backyard), San Francisco. The list of seminars detailed here should be awesome and informative, including a Keynote address by adult internet pioneer Steve Lightspeed. The last several months have been emotionally very tough on me, which is why I took a multi-month hiatus from this zoo, we all know (and mostly love), as GFY. As some of you know, last March, one of our beloved members, After Shock Media (ASM/David), passed away after a long and valiant fight with cancer, and then in late April, I lost my Dad. As if that wasn't enough, a friend of my's son committed suicide in May, followed by the death of one of my best friend's 25 year old daughter. After all of that mourning, I then spent most of June enduring, and finally recovering from, pneumonia. It is true, I've been through one of the hardest, saddest, periods in my life, but I am finally bouncing back, and all I can say (with tears streaming down my cheeks) is that life is beautiful...such experiences and challenges can actually make a person stronger, and appreciate life so much more. My Dad was a really cool guy. He didn't want to be buried in a cemetery, because he didn't want us to visit him in such a sad and solemn place. Instead, he wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread in the Puget Sound (the bay surrounding the city he loved most, Seattle), so that when members of my family went fishing (and many in my family love to fish), we could visit him there. Anyway, I am at last getting things back up to speed business-wise, and starting to appreciate and love life all the more. And now, to get this thread back on track, I would be remiss to not mention the incredible Cybernet Expo "Kink in the Kastle" closing party, put on by Peter Acworth and his incredible crew at Kink.com on Saturday night of the show. It alone is surely worth the price of the trip and admission to the Cybernet Expo, in and of itself!!! If you are coming to the Cybernet Expo, do not miss this event - and prepare to have your mind blown...I mean it. :warning I'll try to find some of my pictures from last year at Kink in the Kastle, however if JFK (or one of the other attendees from last year) could post up some pix, then you will start to begin to see what an incredible event they put on.
