Is it fair to count sites that are still online, but now just display models from larger sites, though they are not normal white labels because they handle their own billing? For example www.metrobabes.com which just shows Cams.com models. There are others too.

Can anyone think of more failures? I know there are more :)

You crazy if you put the investment cost aside. I could have taken the 350K he spent and put it into a CD making 1% and made a better investment that made me more money then what he did.

If you are talking about camgirls.com, that domain is worth quite a bit. I have no idea the sale price but I would expect it to be a good ways up there.

The guy above me bought it 15 months ago for 350k using every penny he had. He had no clue how to start a cam site even though he thought he knew it all. Eventually he ended up just throwing up a streamate cobrand on the domain and still doesn't have an affiliate program.

Fuuuck what a bad move.

I'd rather spend $5,000 on a shitty domain and say $80,000 on marketing/recruitment.

LiveJasmine isn't exactly a good domain name but they've done a fuck ton of advertising to make their mark.

I HAD an affiliate program minus the skin, but it drained my funds getting it set up for 3 months so I'm licking my wounds before the next attempt.

I didn't accept all your morbid pessimistic sh1t and said the price was justified since many sites make $50 million per year, a figure I later justified with the Adult Friend Finder IPO public document.

Basically 50 GFYers were jealous and ganged up on me for 6 months straight calling me everything under the sun because I bought a domain.

I've asked Lazy 3 times exactly what I said he disagrees with and he has never answered.

But you only bought the domain. You didn't buy an existing company that was showing profit.

AdultFriendFinder, another shitty domain name that has made it big.

In fairness camgirls, Lazycash gave you some decent advice as did Will76 initially before you pissed him off. Others also gave you some good advice, but most lost interest in you for anything other than amusement when you started spouting your Truman, Genesis Adam stuff.

If you are capable of being objective, you should re-visit those threads, in particular the early pages, and READ what was actually said not what you remember was said. Also leave non business stuff off of GFY, there must be hundreds of more appropriate other forums where you could discuss those things.

Not criticism just a suggestion.

Don't really care, like they say money talks....

In a few years when your "shitty domain" fails, you will have lost $80,000 and $4,992 --whereas the camgirls.com owner will have likely made some modest money on his whitelabel, but almost certainly made a boat load of money on the appreciation of his domain name.
