I heard that AVN florida show is letting the general public into the hotel. is it true??

Before I book my stuff I need the official word from someone at AVN on these questions:

Is it true that you are letting consumers stay at the Westin diplomat this year? if yes please explain WHY

Is it true that the show floor is all sex toy companies? if not what percentage is internet?

Is there a designated area for webmasters? if not how can i tell who is from where?

What internet seminar topics are you guys doing?

Are there going to be internet categories at the Florida awards show? if yes how can I nominate my sites?

On the show site it says THE FOLLOWING BUYERS HAVE REGISTERED what do you mean by BUYERS?

I just received a email that says I can get a show badge for $100. how can my partner get a refund?

People have gotten into the show that are not in adult.

A few years back Dennis Rodman would be an example. However, he is not an isolated incident.

Where do I get $300.00 badges for $100.00?!?!?

I believe the answer to this is yes, but not 100% sure.

As to why it may be though - the Internext show in Miami is being attended less each year and as you know we have always had that hotel completely dedicated to us. I don't think the rooms were being filled up - and when you rent out the whole hotel, you pay for all rooms.

It will be an interesting change to this show. Not sure if we will be attending yet...

I have no idea how much it costs to rent out the entire Hotel as they have done in the past, but I'm sure its very expensive. Judging by attendance last year I'm sure they've had to make some changes but I hope the Hotel is still exclusive. There is something VERY NICE and FREE-Feelings knowing you can walk around to any pool, restaurant, bar whatever, and know anyone you meet will be in adult and a potential business partner.

Hey everyone!

This thread was just brought to my attention and I wanted to address any concerns about this years AVN Show in Florida.

We DO have the entire hotel just like past years of Internext. Rumors that we dont are FALSE!

Only difference this year is that all sectors of the industry will be there. From Internet to Video to Novelty. :)

Letting consumers in is an even bigger game changer. If this is the deal this can change plans for sure. Persius, thanks for posting these, I'll be watching for the answers as well.

I think a lot are wondering about the consumers because it does change the dynamic of the show and how you market your products.

If consumers are going, businesses should do their marketing so it caters to them and the same for B2B.

ONE OTHER THING I WANT TO ADDRESS IS THE PUBLIC IS NOT ALLOWED IN. EVERYONE WILL STILL NEED A BADGE TO STEP ON THE HOTEL PROPERTY.

Random people off the street will not be allowed in. Like DENNIS RODMAN in the past! Not sure how that happened but i have an idea. lol

Buyers are business people like sex shop owners, not consumers. For example one of the attending buyers is Amazon.com

She answered that question, then clarified and I still have no idea what the actual answer is.

It looks like consumers = consumers and buyers = people wanting to buy sex toys, which I think she means in bulk as distributors or store owners? But it's so vague she could mean I could buy a $100 pass and go in and wander around the whole time because I say I want to buy a sex toy.

I'm interested to know the answer to this too, although I have zero intention of going.

I think it's a great idea to let consumers into the show. While I have always enjoyed Internext, there's only SO MUCH b2b business that can be done. This is a great opportunity for businesses to advertise to end users as well as to the usual b2b peeps. Letting end users in also helps offset the cost and the risk Internext/AVN takes in putting on the show. GOOD MOVE, Avn!

The show is TRADE ONLY. All sales are WHOLESALE. Only retailers and distributors are allowed. No B2C sales at all. And this helps the Internet folks because lots of these retailers and distributors have been slower to get online..start affiliate programs, need billing solutions etc.

Please understand this is a WHOLESALE BUSINESS ONLY. Business to Business. Not Business to Consumer.
