Why not switch to Trillian Amp? All the convenience of ICQ without the hassle. Ever since I switched I've not had any problems.:2 cents:

im convinced messages are dropped more often than folks can imagine, in addition to all the other little quirks.

Ive begun to just launch icq every few days, and check it, but thats about it.

i'm sure Labret or FletchXXX have a machine gun/butter knife they can lend you :)

Trilian Pro 1.x seems to be pretty stable.

tried that once... looked like basically just a thing that consolidates your messenger numbers (ICQ, AOL, Messenger, etc...) rather than an actual messenger itself... looked like junk to me... was confusing and difficult so I deleted it.

well it's gotta be something on their end... I haven't messed with anything on it here at all, so I know I didn't screw up some setting....

It does consolidate all the messaging programs into one but acts as a messenger itself for all of them. I only use ICQ and MSN and it imported my contacts and works just the same as the individual programs themselves. The other programs (AIM, IRC, Yahoo)just sit dormant as I've never entered any info for them. When I wanna msg someone I open up Trillian, double click on their name in the list and type away. It keeps a history for all the messengers as well, not just ICQ, which I've found very helpful.

Granted I'm running version 0.73 - maybe the upgrade is shitty.

I spent a few bucks and got the "Pro" version - why? Well, I just wanted to show a little support to the homies who are working on the program. Installed it about 3 months ago and have not had one fugg'n problem with it - works like a charm!

They have a free version that you can download - give it a shot - whaddya' have to lose?

my icq 2002 was all screwed but i switched to icq2003 and it works fine now. just uninstall and download the new one.

icq is only one I know getting worst with time. I want 2000a back.
