24 hour logo competition [$100]
 

OK. Who wants to start the week with 100 bucks?

I need a logo and a logotype designed. Just to explain:

logo = the nike swoosh, or the apple bitten apple
logotype = the actual words of the brand

So I need BOTH those things doing for "britishcambabes.com"

I would prefer an abstract logo, ie not a cam, a union jack or a babe.

Results will be announced by midday Tuesday 13th July GMT and $100 will be sent to the winner.

That is right. I think that sort of literal design is very easy and simplistic. I want a more abstract logo. Maybe some examples from Smashing Magazine will make it more clear?

Most designers ask 250-500 for a good logo. Maybe that is the problem..

What?s a Designer?s Time Worth Anyway?

The main argument against design contests is that it trivialises the time, effort and client-designer interaction, needed to go into a design. By asking for designer submissions, the client is effectively saying that people should work for the hope of getting paid, that a designer?s time is only worthwhile if their work is actually used.

A few times I?ve had clients say things like "If I don?t like the design, do I have to pay for it?" This sort of question makes me run for the hills, and a design contest is essentially answering that question with a big ?no?.

I get housewives to make my logos for me.

As much as I despise contests from my own designer's point of view, there are some sites out there for logo contests and I think if the designers didn't want to "compete" they wouldn't be as popular as they are.

By far the best with the lowest consistant price is Gary Simon, who posts here...but I forget his nick at the moment.

Thing is, yes, you can spend thousands on a logo. I used to work in mainstream marketing and the amount of cash I saw customers spend was scary.

However, in porn we all know there are some brilliant up and coming designers who need a break. If they come up with an idea, then they can win the 100 bucks. And get another thing for the portfolio.
