honda sells them for 930 bucks, but i'm pretty sure you can snag one for considerably less.
in the 3 plus years of off and on use i never had a problem and the thing always worked.
i once even used a 1k light on it for several hours (pushing it) and it never complained.

other similar models are sold by other companies for way less, but dont know of their reliability.

I have the eu2000, love the damn thing. It will run my fridge, TV and DVD player, and a fan, and it's super quiet, and only uses one gallon every 6.5 hours. Best investment ever!

With propane camping stove tops, and this generator, I can have ice in my drinks, steaks on the grill, and watch a movie in front of a fan. What else do you need after a hurricane?

:)
:thumbsup

yes, i was just looking at the eu2000. they also have a parallel cable kit so you can hook up 2 of those suckers together and essentially have 4k watts. That is TON of power for about 90lbs!

but as you say 2k watts is plenty to do alot of things on its own...its tempting!

i also saw that Honeywell has a 1k very simliar looking to the Honda but about 400 bucks. Dont know about the quality though, Honda is hard to beat.

I would STRONGLY SUGGEST to anyone living in the south especially near the coast that they buy one of these generators. They are durable, reliable, very easy to operate and you can take them anywhere. It could save your butt in an emergency.

I would stay with honda, if I were you. Lets face it, when you need 'em, they better work... and the honda is totally solid and bulletproof as far as I can tell.

aye man i think you are right, why mess with a potentially inferior product considering it might have to save your life in an emergency. Honda is the best.

Okay Honda, will you please pay us now:winkwink:

96ukssob 07-14-2010 09:29 AM

my parents got one for their house. power goes off this thing kicks in right away... almost no downtime.

can run a bunch of shit including almost the entire kitchen, tv and computers. cost them $5k but when the power is out for a few hours, they are the only ones with the lights on, watching tv and browsing the web :1orglaugh
