Mike South, step inside...
Mike,
In regards to your blog post here: http://www.mikesouth.com/uncategoriz...ec-helmy-3922/ For the record: 1. ASACP is a 501(c)(4). 2. Therefore no one owns it. 3. No such deal has been made. 4. The Advisory Council reviews and votes on all key matters pertaining to ASACP. 5. Review this link as well. Alec |
Very interesting story.

Still can't find the damn like button on this thing... Good post.

Most people who are into shady things go out of their way to disconnect themselves from them and hide behind laws and corporate structure to claim they don't really own it. Not saying this is the case here, but YOU LOOK GUILTY AS HELL. Your organization gets paid but you don't. Right. My offshore shell corp makes all of my money and I live below the poverty line so I don't pay taxes so I know your song and dance. Nice try. May work with the simpletons but not with the rest. That post of Mikes he says something that rings true. "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...it's a duck." The question then becomes, why do you walk and quack like a duck if you're not a duck? |

Mike brings up a great question though. I was assured months ago that xbiz.net would be industry people only. Why is Lawley allowed to be the exception?

It is painfully obvious that those who are looking out for the business and the welfare of kids just porked us all in the rear. But can you blame them? |

i wonder how much salary alec takes out for overseeing asacp.... . |

Mike South has been banned from here. He can neither see nor reply to your post. I often wonder how many of the CP sites have been shut down over the years by ASACP. Do yall keep a list somewhere? |
Wouldn't surprise me one bit. This whole industry if full of thieving muthafuckers.
|
Looks very interesting indeed.
|
Truly, lots of you confuse me.....

Too bad. Joan or Tim can answer that question. |

So long as a person is relevant to the industry, we give them full consideration - XBIZ does not factor in unpopularity. If we cannot confirm a person's relevance (or their line of business), he/she does not get in. To date, 1000+ sign-ups have NOT been approved - jfyi. |

The notion that a message board is some kind of 'private club house' beyond the prying eyes of consumers or others is silly beyond belief. XBIZ.net does a better job than most of weeding out trolls and idiots... Lawley is neither a troll nor an idiot. I am not a fan of .xxx at all, I am not a fan of Lawley at all.... but the charge of 'ooOOooo he got access to a message board even though it's on double-secret-special-lockdown' is downright silly. :2 cents: |
Mike South has had a hard-on for Alec Helmy for years over .xxx and the Xbiz awards. He came after me and Stephen over it because Stephen worked for him and I was a moderator at XBiz.com. Then when his whining didn't get him anywhere, he dragged it over to GFY while I was the new guy working at Playboy.
He posted pictures of myself and Stephen on his blog Joe Lensmen told me to deal with it Alec told me that Mike South demanded an appology for my actions I appoligized to everyone but that ASSHOLE He attacked me at work and on his blog because I backed Alec I consider him one level below Lawrence Connor as per his revelance to this industry and his conduct as a professional |
I'm confused, can someone explain what is going on here but please give me the Readers Digest Version.

Helmy begs to differ. Some in the industry see this is an utterly irrelevant question. Others think that if it is true, it makes Helmy a "traitor to the industry" and/or a gaping asshole. Some people point to ICM's offer to kick some of the $$ from .XXX registrations to child protection groups like ASACP (of which Helmy is the founder) smacks of "buying off" Helmy. Others are just here enjoying the show, and haven't the foggiest idea wtf any of this is about... which won't stop them from posting statements that imply they have definitive knowledge, while still avoiding the presentation of any actual evidence in support of their claim of knowledge. baddog (I think) is merely holding Helmy to his usual exacting BLUS (or "Baddog Linguistic Usage Standards") I'm not sure Readers Digest would allow all of those terms to be used in their publication, but other than that, I think I've supplied what you are looking for. |

Lawyers for a simple question like that? If you weren't acting clueless and classless, I'd actually drop them an email and obtain the answer for you. |

He can contact me anytime he wants. See sig for email address I'm sure he will post crap about me on his blog where I have no voice like he did before, so don't make this out like he has no voice, he's just an asshole with the only venue of attacking me or anyone else is his blog. He got himself banned from GFY When he brought it to my place of employment, that was over the line. |

I'm just disappointed that I still haven't received any pre-registrations for my proposed sTLD, .GiveQMoney.
It's an opportunity for responsible members of the industry to signal their sincere intent.... to give me money. Don't hesitate webmasters! You wouldn't want your brand's .GiveQMoney domains to be snatched up by some speculator, or even worse, your competition, would you? $60 for .XXX domains is outrageous. That's why I've reduced the price on .GiveQMoney domains to a low, low $59.97 -- unlike ICM, I listen when my sponsoring community speaks. One of these days, I'll get around to actually filing an application with ICANN for this sTLD. First though, I have to build up my war chest to retain attorneys, save up for eventual IP disputes, buy myself property in the Caymans, and other worthy causes that benefit YOU, the webmaster. C'mon guys -- .GiveQMoney was created (well, "conceptualized," if you want to be picky about it) with YOU in mind. Don't let this valuable opportunity pass you by!!! |

TooMuchMedia.GiveQMoney has a real ring to it, doesn't it? Maybe not the best key-in domain ever conceived, but still.... |

Because your question is irrelevant to the central topic of this thread. |
