Wouldn't someone assigned by the Justice Department to shut down all pornsites be smart enough to put a few Blogs up and claim that they are not from the Justice Department... and their agenda is not to shut down the industry? I post on dozens of message boards (including XBIZ.net) and I assume every one of them is being watched closely by competitors, law enforcement, potential business partners, etc....

The notion that a message board is some kind of 'private club house' beyond the prying eyes of consumers or others is silly beyond belief. XBIZ.net does a better job than most of weeding out trolls and idiots... Lawley is neither a troll nor an idiot. I am not a fan of .xxx at all, I am not a fan of Lawley at all.... but the charge of 'ooOOooo he got access to a message board even though it's on double-secret-special-lockdown' is downright silly. :2 cents:

Then when his whining didn't get him anywhere, he dragged it over to GFY while I was the new guy working at Playboy.

Mike South (among others) asserts that Helmy is a secret supporter of .XXX, and is pushing Lawley's agenda in sub rosa fashion.

Helmy begs to differ.

Some in the industry see this is an utterly irrelevant question.

Others think that if it is true, it makes Helmy a "traitor to the industry" and/or a gaping asshole.

Some people point to ICM's offer to kick some of the $$ from .XXX registrations to child protection groups like ASACP (of which Helmy is the founder) smacks of "buying off" Helmy.

Others are just here enjoying the show, and haven't the foggiest idea wtf any of this is about... which won't stop them from posting statements that imply they have definitive knowledge, while still avoiding the presentation of any actual evidence in support of their claim of knowledge.

I've been repeatedly stalked over the years, threatened with violence, had my family threatened and dealt with lawsuits both real and threats. Since Mike can't speak for himself here, regardless of who attacked who... that whole situation to me just smacks of ridiculous.

I would never speak for Helmy on this one, but I would probably say Yes. Even though this person would be the anti-christ, what he would be doing and saying would still be relevant because it affects us and our industry.
