ibill told me i will not be paid at all and to go fuck myself

Ibill sucks and i think its problems are due to financial situations and it decided to rip off offshore webmasters who can do nothing about it to cover there fines

i run a CELEB site, so they claimed about them needing proof in order to pay that i own the celeb stuff , if not they will take my money and do not want to hear anything from me

i told them that you still payout an american friend of mine who run another celeb site, they lied to me telling me he provided proof of ownership to what he displays online

LOL , proof my ass, this friend of mine is NOTHING but a member on my website www.celebs-n-vintage.com and all his content is from my website (there's not any kind of affiliation betwen us though, i just dont mind since i think and do not claim ownership of my content, so i should be cool with the guy and not angry)

So ibill lied to me cause they know i cannot touch them being off shore and they took my money which i paid in bandwidth to cover there own asses

If you need an AWESOME processor i am working with currently please email me [email protected] and i shall guide you to it :-)

:thumbsup

greentea 01-04-2003 12:04 PM

Can you blame them?

Look at your content, its all stolen etc

Webby 01-04-2003 12:08 PM

Offshore don't really mean you can "borrow" content - tis no different from onshore. Most offshore countries abide by copyright laws.

IBill may suck, but sounds like they got ya on this clause. Pity the rest of the IBill "service" was as efficient at this.

Why did you snitch on your "friend" and try to "blow up his spot"?
Thats called "Karma in advance" :321GFY

cyberwave 01-04-2003 12:18 PM

Well i can only agree with both of you really on this BUT to do that to me they should do it to others, but they kind of singled me out which anoys me NEXT TO , when i signed up with them back in the old days they did review my website manually and told me they had no problems in the issue

when you go into business with someone , if it was a respectful company it needs to stay to the end of its word!

IMHO closing my account with them and specifying a time of release for me to the rest of my payouts would have sounded fair but not stealing my money like that besides if we were to talk abouit legal issues i think my website can qualify on the legal side, it's nor MR skin (which is legal totally) but i am getting there , as soon as i have more time it will be

What makes it a bit on the legal side is that it's like a press newspaper with reviews of new movies and old movies as well and sometimes links where you can buy the original DVD,..etc

it's not perfected but hopefully will be in the near future when i am finished off a bio-section off each artist (can't blame me for being a celeb fan --- more or less a dedicated MJH fan :Graucho

cyberwave 01-04-2003 12:22 PM

You got my message wrong, i didn't snith on my friend

i asked ibill why you still process many celeb sites like "Bla and bla and bla" for example which they already know they process!! ;-)

i got the reply from them that those provided proof, after that reply i knew they were just lying to me but i never told them the story about this guy taking content from my website or i'd have published his url here, but i'd not hurt an online friend

online business is SOLELY about good relations so i held my peace about my money but thought i'd warn other webmasters from the way ibill treats clients, there are way better companies that ibill

I suspect some of you have no idea how these things work, and are putting celeb sites in the same catagory as regular content thieves. Understand that celeb sites are not attacked by copyright owners, IE the movie studios, Maxim magazine, whatever. What has happened is that a coalition of money-grubbing fuckers lead by Perfect-10 magazine and Alyssa Milano's mom have been attempting to invent a legal precedence for people who DON'T own copyrights to sue.

At least, in theory. Of course, they don't actually sue since they don't have any legal ground to do so - that would be like porn models suing photographers when the photographers sell their pictures. What happens is that the sites are threatened, the billing companies buckle over and screw their customers rather than attempt to fight a potentially costly legal battle.

This is very similar to VISA putting the screws on adult content - celeb sites are to third party billing companies as adult sites are to VISA International - a drop in the bucket, not worth fighting over.

And before any of you jump on your high horse about illegality, post your URLs, and we can all see how many illegal things you're doing - free porn, explicit tours, whatever. God forbid we check your MP3 directories, because the next big thing is home ISPs dropping customers that trade illegal files. If you think your ISP is going to bother fighting a costly legal battle with the MPAA and RIAA over your right to traffic in copyrighted material, you've got another thing coming.

Not really the point.... Ibill becomes the prosecutor, the judge and the executioner.

In such situations, Ibill could at the least donate the money to a charitable organization such as ... me ( just a joke, lol).

How does it make it better by them keeping the money. Also, did they stop accepting memberships for that site?

UnseenWorld 01-04-2003 12:29 PM

Of all the NERVE! You steal content and then have the audacity to COMPLAIN for not being paid? Go Fuck Yourself, and this time I really mean it.

SleazyDream 01-04-2003 12:31 PM

no licence - no paycheck. case closed.

Well mate they kept the rebills going on (then after a week) they decided to keep it all for themselves

I had to cancel all rebills by myself at that point ad direct users to my new billing processor

cyberwave, get fucked you thieving piece of shit. You Steal Content and make a profit off of it. Now you have been cought, your lucky it's just a processor not paying you a few bucks, rather then a content owner suing your ass off for every cent you have, (which is probabally not much). You rightly should have NEVER been paid 1 cent for your stolen thieving sites....... and you come here to tell us how you are a cheater and you think anyone gives a rats ass.....well think twice,.....This is good news actually, it's 1 less cheating site to have to compete with:1orglaugh

People like you is why this industry is dying, no one gives a fucking shit about anyone besides themselves. You wonder why people at the top are where they are, it's because they support one another and work together.

Besides that, you're a fucking idiot - his site is still up with a different processor, so it's not "1 less cheating site" out there.

Celeb content is not "stolen," the copyright owners don't give a fuck and never have. Celeb sites are being strongarmed by baseless legal threats, and mark my words it's not going to stop there. It's only a matter of time before the religious fundies discover that they can get "obscene" sites shut down by threatening billing processors, and I don't mean fucking beastiality.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comprehend well man :-)

and for replying on my behalf, i'd not have replied though and decided to shut up on this forum, since there's no point in replying to someone with that kind of attitude anyways, it'll waste all our times

i'm not complaining at all, was just warning other fellow webmasters from the way ibill works

Example:

Even if you are a photographer and brought a girl and took the scans and published them and kept no papers between you and that girl, in that sense ibill can still screw you even if you were legit "in terms of thios board posters-lol"

As i am legit as well, Celeb domain is really different like you said from any other porn site Mr.Skin has a howard stern hour everyday on american radio and he'll be online for a long time (one reason for that is that he's one hell of a nice guy as well and knows how to treat webmasters and very professional)

Kat - Fast 01-04-2003 01:00 PM

You cretins are saying that it's ok for ibill to make money from 'illegal' pictures but not the webmaster??

Pulease clarify...

That SOME (not all) celeb photo owners don't care is not the point. The point is, it's property, and if they don't care, then you can get PERMISSION (ever heard of that?).

Maybe you don't think your neighbor would mind lending you his lawnmowever, but do you go over and take it out of his garage and use it without going up and asking, "Hey, Joe, can I borrow your lawnmower?" No, you do it because it's the way things are done.

What content producers and artists are always fighting is the idea that their output is not property. Well, here's the news: it IS.

Well said, and you know what, I agree with you on that. If it were the copyright owners complaining to iBill, I'd be fine with it, because I wouldn't be claiming a right to the pictures. Your analogy is a little flawed, however. Better would be to say, your neighbor has let you take his lawnmower over and over again for years, to the point where you no longer think it's necessary to ask permission to use it. This sort of thing happens all the time in the real world.

Also, there is a little part of copyright law that says copyright owners have to aggressively go after infringing users, and they (in this case) are not, and have not for the five years I've been in this business. I find it disturbing that no one has a problem with people that have NO LEGAL RIGHT to these pictures illegally strong-arming the industry using the threat of legal action? That's just fucked up, and if it continues to work, others are going to try the same shit.

Someone else brought up a good point, though - apparently it is OK for iBill to make money off of this "stolen" content, but not webmasters. Many celeb webmasters have been processing with iBill for years, and made them quite a lot of money, aside from Cyberwave's full MONTH of billing that they have decided to keep. That also screws surfers, you know. I somehow doubt they're going to be refunding a month's worth of charges.

If you'd just typed up a bunch of fake content licenses like all the other Celeb sites on IBill you'd be in the clear.

As I posted once before, IBill is just looking for plausible deniability. All they want is to be able to cover their asses if some stars lawyer calls them up and asks why they are billing for a site with infringing images on it. That's probably why your "friends" site is still up and you are getting the shaft.

I'm not saying its right to do, but fuck, if your gonna steal your content in the first place, typing up a few fake licenses shouldn't be beneath you.. lol.
