Don't take it seriously, enjoy the special effects and be happy that it will never happen that way.

It's worth watching :winkwink:

It's true, in the end we will all be consumed by ridiculous, overblown cgi special effects:pimp

A lot of people went to that movie expecting to see some serious explanation as to how the earth may end in 2012 and came away disappointed when they found out the movie was just an over the top, cheesy, special effects comedy.

Really? Seriously? Roland Emerich? Are these the same people who thought that Independance Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000BC (ha!) were documentaries?

Best movie Emerich's ever has his hand in was Eight Legged Freaks - and he only produced that one.

I cannot believe that there is one person on the face of the earth who would think that anything associated with old Rolly would be a serious look at anything.

Would you believe that some people go to see a movie and have no idea who wrote, directed or produced it.

30 mins to go. (til it starts)

A couple hours from now I'll know how it all ends for humanity. And if there's a chance for survival, so I know how much canned beans to buy and stockpile 'tween now and then.

Wish me luck.

So-so movie, G R E A T Special effects. Not only do cities go boom, but sky scrapers fall into each other, but every piece of glass on every single building reflects, every desk has pieces of paper, chairs, telephones, computers, cables. Teeny tiny little legs of little people hanging over the edges, and on and on and on. The movie is worth watching just for the insane amount of detail in every vfx scene.

Awesome, thanks. I'm a movie viewer with an attention for such detail too, so will be watching for it.

Special effects = Awesome!
Plot = the ghey! uber ghey

They need to cut all the plot stuff out and just leave in all the destruction, it would be a much better movie then.

Spanx!
Jack

Not bad, not bad.

The Woody Harrelson character was good, wished they'd have drawn him out a bit more in the story.

One thing I have a problem with in this movie is the President. Sorry, no way in hell the secret service would allow him to refuse to get on board Airforce One in ANY emergency situation. They'd have dragged his ass kicking and screaming if need be, it simply isn't his decision to stay or go. The president, based on everything I've ever read or heard, is protected at all costs. I find it interesting, and a tad stupid, that the writers thought otherwise.

Well I guess I'll be saving for my ark ticket. Can anyone lend me 999.9 million Euros? I'll cover the rest.
