That's a great name you have already. Those .info names are the next big thing.

yeah, but unfortunately due to various factors ( most of the good names went to cheaters during the pre-registration and Afillias and ICANN were very lazy in preventing it and fighting them, lack of promotion and even suspicion of corruption ) they are not so popular as they could be...

who can predict the future of .INFO ?
certainly .COM will stay the most popular domain 4 ever, but .INFO can become as popular as .ORG, perhaps in 4 years...

Anyway, the purpose of my post wasn't to start a debate about the domain names industry.

Was .ORG ever popular?

No one can predict the future with 100% accuracy, but these TLDs have been coming and going for years. They haven't caught on and they never will. "Dot com" is so ingrained in the world psyche, right now, that anything else just doesn't measure up.

Some will be better than others. A ".sex" TLD might be worth looking into for people in our industry, but "info" just doesn't fit. It's no better than ".cc" and probably not as good as ".tv".

It's your right to buy and sell whatever domains you like. I was just pointing out that I thought that comment was more sarcasm than seriousness.

I should also point out that the domain in your post also has a hyphen in it. The hyphen is the kiss of death even with .com domains.

There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but hyphenated domains are not generally considered a desirable property.

If you have a domain for sale with over 100 type-ins a day, post it here.

I didn't say that "dot info" will be big.
However, unlike domains like "dot cc" or "do tv", it a "top level domain" and not a county code domain that just acts like a generic domain. Furthermore, is simply sounds better than ".cc" or ".tv". Certainly every copamny is looking for "dot com", but undoubtedly "mycompany.info" sounds better than "mycompany.cc" or "mycompany.tv" ( tv is accosiated rather with televison ). Also you must agree that names like weather.info or wallstreet.info sound great. But I agree that its future might be a not so good.

/ with my reply I simply bumped this thread /
