Are there any webmasters that are caffiene free?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if their are any webmasters that are close or completely caffeine free?

I have an addiction to coke in a can and I want to quit but I'm scared of the caffeine headaches and terrible moods I get into.

Ideally I want to stop drinking coke and coffee. I drink about 2 cups of coffee a day and one to two cans of coke a day. It started off fairly innocent but now its getting expensive too. I get stomach rot from the coffee and I know how bad coke is on my body.

Are there any techniques that you have used or any tip and tricks you can recommend?

TeenCat 07-20-2010 10:51 AM

i have drinked like 10 coffee in my life, and it always make me only bad feeling. but i need marijuana instead :)

PR_Glen 07-20-2010 10:53 AM

why not switch it to tea instead? not bad for the stomach and always inexpensive...

caffeine has no real side affects, unless you have blood pressure issues or troubles sleeping anyway...

fris 07-20-2010 11:00 AM

i am ;) but ive never drank coffee in my life

Amputate Your Head 07-20-2010 11:01 AM

Close. I have 1 or 2 cups of coffee in the morning, the rest of my day is caffeine free.

Altwebdesign 07-20-2010 11:03 AM

I am 100%:
Caffeine Free
Drug Free
"tea" free
Energy drink Free

I hardly ever drink fizzy pop, i have NEVER drank a cup of coffee or tea in my life. . . ever!! I don't need it for stimulation either, I believe thats down to a decent diet and good exercise!

Fruit juice and water for the win!!

selena 07-20-2010 11:04 AM

Yes. I gave up caffeine approaching 2 years ago. I didn't think there was ANY way that I could live w/out diet Dr. Pepper, which was the only thing I had to worry about giving up, as I hate coffee.

I just went cold turkey, as I am impatient, and don't have a lot of success w/ trying to gradually give things up. It sucked for 3 days or so, then went away. For me, it wasn't a thing like stopping smoking where the urge to smoke still periodically hits me after years of quitting. It was just those first few days, then the desire was gone, both mentally and physically.

PornstarXS 07-20-2010 11:07 AM

was never a caffeine crazy guy over the years, i'd have the odd watered down coffee (more milk than water) with toast for midnight snacks. And through university days i would have a pop and pizza often for lunch. I never understood the addiction in between lecture breaks how some of my friends would be dying for a smoke and coffee.

I'm from toronto as well so i know there's a tim hortons, coffee shop or fast food place at every corner pumping out soda by the gallons. I'm a gym rat so i just limit the caffeine to a pop with my pizza if i pack on the calories on weekends. That's it, just cold water the rest of the time - it does the trick. I've also seen a new caffeine addiction my gym friends have and that's redbull. That shit is nasty and not good for you.

What may help is try and avoiding the caffeine during the week and indulge on the weekend. That's what i do with eating right weekdays and packing on calories on the weekend, then eventually the need subsides. Also just make sure you don't have the temptations around you - whether it's at home or office.

Thanks TeenCat I enjoy my green as well.

lesbodojo 07-20-2010 11:15 AM

You're brave, Dwreck. I can't quit coffee.

marcop 07-20-2010 11:17 AM

I quit caffeine over 15 years ago because I was very sensitive to it. I cold turkeyed and had a headache for 7-10 days, but it wasn't too severe. Right away I was sleeping better--I'd had insomnia for 20 years, and although it had lessened somewhat by the time I quit caffeine, I began sleeping like a little baby--and still do. I highly recommend quitting.

CurrentlySober 07-20-2010 11:19 AM

I'm on about 8 diet redbulls a day...

Paul&John 07-20-2010 11:26 AM

I drink coffee if i want to have a take a fine crap :) Otherwise i drink tea/water :)

Yngwie 07-20-2010 11:30 AM

I'm caffeinated 24/7. I actually think that my blood is now all liquid caffeine. haha

thehand 07-20-2010 11:34 AM

I quit caffeine about 5 months ago.I was addicted to Diet coke. The headaches were horrible for about 3-4 weeks. , now I feel great. Just man up & take the pain , my friend:thumbsup

Roald 07-20-2010 11:36 AM

First thing I do when getting in the office, getting coffee and smoking a cigarette. I'm a rebel I know

cambaby 07-20-2010 11:38 AM

Tea is your answer, specifically Lipton Green Tea with Citrus in the summer and any hot tea in the winter.

Varius 07-20-2010 11:40 AM

I've always hated coffee myself; lately though I have started only drinking water + alcohol when I go out drinking. No soft drinks, no energy drinks, nothing but water :)

LeRoy 07-20-2010 11:42 AM

Italian roast is nice :)

ottopottomouse 07-20-2010 11:42 AM

Caffeine free for a long time apart from sometimes when I visit my brother as he has a fancy coffee machine and it's hard to resist - although last time I went there I was glad I had a lift home instead of driving as I could definitely feel i'd drunk it after so long on mostly just water all the time and my car likes going a lot faster than it's allowed to.

Nicky 07-20-2010 11:45 AM

I drink maybe 1 cup of coffee every other month or so. I drink more coke though but not daily.

Spyce 07-20-2010 11:46 AM

Must. Have. Coffee.

Jayvis 07-20-2010 11:47 AM

Lemon water 24/7.

Jakez 07-20-2010 11:54 AM

Mountain Dew and Four Loko's (which has caffeine, 12% alc, taurine, and something called guarana which is twice as potent as caffiene) are the only time I drink caffeine.

Serial Pervert 07-20-2010 11:55 AM

i'm, but just cause i have gastrit

Wilsy 07-20-2010 12:06 PM

I'm addicted to red bull, i drink around 5 cans per day and if i don't have one by 10am my face aches :)

SpongeBub 07-20-2010 12:16 PM

8 cups of coffee and 8 oxycodone 30s per day. I feel great!

Walter Gropius 07-20-2010 12:22 PM

I've never drunk tea or coffee because they both dehydrate you. Used to drink a lot of Coke but it's even worse so I stopped drinking that too - all I drink now is bottled water, all day every day. Love the stuff and it's damn healthy too - win win situation.

<------- completely caffeine free. No coffee, no soda. Took about a month to get past the physical craving. I feel great.

cherrylula 07-20-2010 12:42 PM

Just drink water instead. FYI green tea has loads of caffeine in it.

You will sleep much better. Most caffeine addicts don't realize how bad it affects your sleep patterns. But some people have rough schedules and need a little caffeine. Others are real sensitive and avoid it.

seeandsee 07-20-2010 12:50 PM

1 energy dink every 1 month or so
The rest, fruit juice and water
absolutly no green
occassional line
no eye drops from staring at this screen all day

CaptainHowdy 07-20-2010 01:05 PM

Now I need an espresso...

RyuLion 07-20-2010 01:17 PM

I used to be a big coffee drinker also but switched to green tea with lemon, I sometimes add honey, since I'm working out now.
I also drink a lot of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and take L-Carnitine.
Caffeine dehydrates you.

Or just stick to ten more days without caffeine and maybe those withdrawal symptoms will go away.
