Could Shaquille O'Neal end up without a job next season?

I hate it when warriors who obviously don't need the money don't hang it up while they are still on top.I'm really not a fan of Shaq's he does have other ventures...damn!

fatfoo 07-24-2010 08:28 AM

He doesn't need a job. Probably he has huge retained earnings already.

dicksman42 07-24-2010 08:33 AM

True, I just hate to see them decline.I want to see them go out on top.

dicksman42 07-24-2010 08:34 AM

Boxers are notorious for that shit..lol

IllTestYourGirls 07-24-2010 08:51 AM

He will end up at the old folks home of the NBA, the Celtics.

beerptrol 07-24-2010 08:52 AM

maybe he'll go back to Miami

justinsain 07-24-2010 09:35 AM

Shaq has said many times that when he retires from the NBA he would like to get a job in law enforcement working as a Sheriff in Miami or Orlando.

Hard to blame them though. People are offering them millions to keep trying.

Imagine trying to leave a profession and as soon as you walk out the door someone's
in your face again flashing millions for you to do the same thing just one more time.

bloggerz 07-24-2010 06:20 PM

he's not as dominant as he used to but of course he is getting old! but he still posses some of that "in the paint" takeover power if he wanted to

pamon 07-24-2010 06:50 PM

his exwife took half of his money and assets and i'm sure he's got a killer alimony payment to her. he needs the cash and he'll sign somewhere for a league minimum with performance bonuses. i'll take miami in a month or so and he'll be there.

NaughtyVisions 07-24-2010 06:56 PM

He's fine....

It's the same as Mick Jagger. As long as he keeps the Stones going, he is Mick Fuckin' Jagger of the Stones. But once he stops, he is a 70-year-old man nobody gives a shit about. Same for Shaq - once you give it up, no one pays any attention to you and you are on the outside. Remember that he has played this game his entire life - it's bound to be very, very hard to give up something that defines your very existance.

spunky99 07-24-2010 07:33 PM

he could go back to rapping..

He's 40 with bad knees. I think he better re-think that career.

BigRod 07-25-2010 06:28 AM

You guys are forgetting about his new show on ABC Shaq VS.

I couldn't have said it better myself. After this next season, the C's will have no young players except for Rhondo to build on. Shaq can't run a fast break to save his life at his age.

He's pretty good at burning bridges. Unlikely he's going to be picked up this season, asking too much money and injury prone.

Chosen 07-25-2010 07:35 AM

I'm sure he'll be fine anyway...

That makes him more than qualified to be a Sheriff in Florida :winkwink:

There isn't a chance in hell he ends up back in Miami. The Heat already has Joel Anthony, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamaal Magloire and rookie Dexter Pittman under contract at center, and Shaq not only burned his bridges in Miami, he fucking obliterated them. He took shots at Dwyane Wade, Pat Riley and the Heat medical staff on his way out the door, so he is hardly welcome there. Not to mention the need for Miami at center, with all the big time scorers they now have, is for a guy to rebound and block shots, not to score. Joel Anthony will be the starting center, with Z providing some low post scoring off the bench if needed and Jamal Magloire providing his usual 5 fouls and toughness. Dexter Pittman was over 400 pounds at one point for University of Texas, and he is now down around 290 or so. When he slims down even further he will be a beast and is an excellent long term project. There is no place on The Heat for Shaq and his whining and selfishness...
