Penthouse Hosted Galleries Slowdown?
 

Can anyone else confirm ... for the past few days it seems the servers that host the Penthouse/AFF hosted galleries have slowed to a crawl .. or simply timeout.

I'm boppin' around the rest of the net just fine, but when I test a Penthouse hosted gal url for one of my sites .. slowdown or hang city ..

example ... http://galleries.penthouse.com/g/1124/23/?gpid=p2115

The actual penthouse.com site loads just fine .. just the HGs ..

And as we know .. the slower a page loads, the faster the prospect goes somewhere else.

Anyone else experience the same?

Anyone know who we can contact over the weekend? (They've already acknowledged to me they never check their support mail because of too much spam .. you'd think they have better controls in place, but I digress).

I have just opened the gallery and it loaded fine and quick.

yup .. back to being very slow .. sent Elli an eMail ... maybe be can find a rat pissing on a wire or whatever's the problem.

I am happy that you other guys have verified the issue though. Glad I'm not nuts ... well, maybe I am, but not on this :)

I'm a she, and I'll be able to talk to our programmers Monday morning to find out what's going on.

My apologies ... it seems to be working okay now .. but performance has been up and down for the better part of a week.

Ok, we've checked out servers and there doesn't seem to be anything unusual that we can see over the weekend. There were no hiccups in sales or any other indicators. Next time that happens, could you email me a ping test and we'll see what we can see?

Galleries right now are dead. PING tests return only "Request timeout for icmp_seq ..." errors.

A traceroute goes blank after it hits 208.84.49.26 (208.84.49.26) ..

Looks like maybe a trunkline issue upstream??

Just an update to any of you are following ... so far all day today, the Penthouse hosted gallery servers have been running smoothly .. first time in a couple weeks. (Hope I'm not jinxing it).

Major shout-out to Elli who really bulldogged this thing, and kept me posted step-by-step.

Can someone confirm ... after a few months, seems the issue has returned. I've noticed it over the past five days. Same symptoms as last time .. either slow-loading or completely times out during morning/afternoon hours (east coast time) .. then returns to normal in the evening.

Just an update .. still not resolved. Especially painful this morning.

It took a while, but Sheriff Elli and her posse finally got to the bottom of the issue. Everything is now back to hunky-dory.
