Attention everyone: TOGETHER we CAN save Australia from porn censorship!

The Australian government and their coalition are taking away their citizens freedoms. They censor and ban porn that is considered legal in most western countries. Local porn shops are raided, they are checking private laptops for porn, producers are forced to leave the country (abbywinters.com is one) and so on. Soon mandatory internet filter is reality.

I assume everyone in this industry strongly object against this. But what can we do and can we do anything at all?

Yes, we CAN!

The federal election in Australia will be on 21st of August and there is a relative new party called Australian Sex Party fighting for the peoples (and OUR!) freedoms.

They will not win the majority of votes, but they need a voice or more in the senate. They need support to achive it. We can give moral and financial support, but I think the most efficient support is giving them awareness and aren't WE the right ones for that task? WE have the massive traffic and the surfers who need to know.

If EVERYONE in this industry launch a massive campaign, then I'm confident it will have some effect. Put it on your tubes and tgps, write about it on your blogs, big and small site, freesites and paysites, forward it to your contacts, affiliates etc. When launched, we also forward it to the news reporters to get more attention. A massive internet campaign like that can not go unnoticed and unreported!

Here are many banners you can use:

Now, some of you may say: Why do I give a shit about that? I'm not Australian, etc.
Well first look at your server stats. How many of your surfers are from Australia? That's the percent of less income you can expect if a filter become mandatory. Second, when one country implement it, others will follow. That is not in our interest and the sooner we try to stop it, the better!

It doesn't require much work from each of us and TOGETHER we can do it. Don't leave this to destiny, it's time we FIGHT BACK! It's now or never! Maybe we fail, maybe we surprise, either way it's important that we did something.

What do you say guys? Which DATE do we launch the campaign? :)

Why is that better?

paymeback 08-10-2010 03:46 AM

Getting the Sex party into the senate isnt going to do shit. Quoted today Conroy(the senator behind the filter) says he'll "seek changes at censorship board level" to get around any senate block.

Well, what do you expect from a bunch of bomb throwing muslims?

Australia, on the other hand, bills itself as a civilized western country.
