I think Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, and thousands of other companies might have a problem with this. Companies with money.
|
Lol oh noes Congress is going to protect us from cookies, never happen, Google wont let it happen.
|
it's been real, see you in the funny pages
|
Yup, the FTC is going to ban IP tracking and cookies...thereby making it harder for law enforcement to do their jobs. Won't happen.
|
I'm not sure but wouldn't affiliate programs just move offshore? The same way many call centers skirt the do not call registry by moving their operations overseas?

I like the Animality in Mortal Kombat.
Anyone agree? There is also Babality and Friendship options. Babality http://www.fdmk.net/fdmk_images/ency...a/babality.png Animality http://mkk.mortalkombatonline.com/fa...2animality.jpg Friendship http://mortal.shang.free.fr/images/m...friendship.png In Friendship, the beaten player stays alive and he/she is given an autograph or a toy. In Babality, the beaten player is turned into a child. |
Wow did fatfoo really just post this? Awesome!
|
Unless the internet is offline I'll still be here slinging porn in 3 years.
|
It won't happen.
|
1 org laugh
|
This shit ain't goin anywhere. If this shit gets approved not only porn will be affected but all major mainstream CPA networks, u know ... those networks that have boatloads of money and who are ass-deep in the interwebz economy...
Shit like that can cause the implosion of the interwebz as we now it. On the other hand if it passes, CPA networks can just move offshore, the only problem would then be having that "do not call-style plugin" installed in all browsers Talk about a monstrous clusterfuck... Quote:

They will end up banning the passing of personal info not cookie tracking is my bet.
|
HA HA
lightspeed wont die unless steve does |
It's not likely that it will happen however I think sole cookie based tracking should go away anyway. There are other ways to do it as well. Part of the reason many programs don't use them is because they don't want to. They make more without them. :upsidedow
Even if it did happen it's still not necessarily the end of the affiliate system as we know it. There are ways around it. Both technical and not so technical including using a multiplying factor to determine payouts. For example, if it's determined that 40% of users have it on then you would multiply the affiliate payout accordingly to compensate for the loss to the affiliate due to tracking problems. Now whether sponsors would actually have the decency to do this... another story (some loss already occurs but we don't see many sponsors offering an extra 10% etc over it, do we?). And there's better solutions of a more technical nature to help with the problem anyway. Some other ideas off the top of my head: 1. white labels / specialized domains for an individual affiliate 2. Referrer based tracking (to compliment existing systems .. few block referrer data) 3. IP based tracking ( to compliment ...) ... |
idiotic waste of government money again
|
you are all a stupid bunch of fucking idiots... you are the same assclowns that said tubes wont effect business..
guess what? 20 years ago they said we would never have a black president... get your heads out of your asses and learn to never say never, just like you never say everyone.. it leaves no room to be wrong.... :2 cents: fucking idiots.... . |

This is great news for torrent sites and really bad news for all those music, movie and tv companies trying to protect from free freeloaders!

I doubt this proposed legislation will ever get out of committee ? this is an election year so I look at this in that aspect too. |
What a joke, I laughed good.
|
|
not gonna happen. opt out of cookies, opt out of internet
|
I'm going the other route for a change.. you affiliates are all washed up. :)
There is about as much chance to get rid of a porn affil as a stray cat you once fed.. we (they) will keep meowing at you with quality traffic, tight conversions and irresistable charms :) until you feed us (them). :) The bird just sits where the pasteur is greenest. :) Meaning (sorry Lazy :) ) I'll (we'll) go to whoever sells. And someone will always sell. So please no gloom and doom. Lets be merry. It was a good July all in all for the bird and for a few pasteur owners. :) |

I'm telling ya, I owe it all to that Motivational Music Thread I did. lol I may do another for August. But this time I may actually need the Cocaine (as someone thought I was on) lol Sativa not Indica I have been told is the key. lol I couldnt resist (inside board joke) :) I got my eye on your main site MrPeabody Why? 1) Cause it's getting popular :) 2) Cause I like your style 3) Cause I have this weird thing where wasnt MrPeabody one of my early cartoons. hmmm :) "Help Mr Wizard." No thats a different cartoon. Tooter Turtle to be exac. :) Wasnt MrPeabody this kind of know it all dog (beagle maybe) who was also real cool or was that just Snagglepuss. hmmm :) |
I'll bet Indica will work too. I wouldnt know. :)
Maybe I'll fly to San Fran to create the next August Motivational Music Thread from there and find out. :) I'll have that thread to 500 views by dawn with sheer.. .. talent. :) |
Tubes affected the industry but I still make money.
Cocaine is illegal but they still make money. Government is bad but they still make money. Nothing is going away................. |

You are a pornographer, shame on you! |
Since I mentioned San Fran... couple tunes
It's the middle of the night in the States. To those in the daytime I do apologize. :) In the states 99 of 100 would rather see and maybe hear these tunes than talk about the affil's demise. :) The affil is alive and well and living in San Francisco. |
|
so who'sur daddy?
|
"Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. You want to get out of here? You talk to me."
You've got some great sayings. :) I like the other one.. How did it go.. "I used to get high, I still do, but I used to too" Where's Pauly to tell us "Stoney" :) Great stuff :thumbsup |

Sounds like something you might get on your trees. lol --- 3 reasons: 1) Nicole Scherzinger 2) Miley Cyrus hitting it beautifully 3) I feel the love in this thread. I do. :) I feel Australia and Europe looking this way. Fear not my friends. The greatest country in the world will rise again and we will take you with us. :) |

Cant we keep it down a bit. :) You made your point. You can kick my ass. lol So much testosterone and adrenalin in these hard (I wouldnt call em rock) songs today. :) |

I finally penned the music gap. Grant it I imagine the word "acid" is a tip. Man I dont know. Bad trip there. :) Use that in modern day sound warfare to drive out people held up in dwellings. That song is why I dont leave home anymore. :) Peace out. I am out of here. And you too I'm sure. :) |

(I was out getting some Bubba Kush from my "friend" who texted me, all excited. 'It's in! It's in!' So off I went - WHOOSH! And now here I go - WHOOSH! MMMmmmm baby...) Sativa is the head high, Indica more of a body/couch potato high. For me, I CANNOT do too much of Indica 'cause then I wanna lay down every 2-3 hours and take a nappy-poo. Of course, Indica is easier to grow/sell, so finding a (consistent) supply of good Sativa is a challenge, here in NYC, at least. Mister Peabody World be blowin' up...promote, promote, promote; make $, make $, make $! (God, I sound like a Geico commercial...) Have a great weekend! PS - currently I'm listening to - don't laff now - old Neil Young and CSNY live bootlegs from '69 - '74. Wow. That kind of shit excites me. LOL Next up: Tom Petty's live anthology. I'm ollllld....:) PPS: Yes, it was Sherman and Mr.Peabody and the Wayback Machine. LOL But that wasn't my motivation - I just thought the name sounded funny. That's why I always spell out 'Mister' and not 'Mr.'. Still, Google loves that little dog more than me. And a band apparently has that name, too. Grrr! |
No more "backtracing"...
