Sunny Leone Running 1/2 Marathon for CANCER
 

Hey everyone

I wanted to share with you that I will be running a half marathon Oct 24th, 2010 to raise money for Cancer.

My father was diagnosed with cancer in Oct. 2009. He fought with all his heart and soul to live. Here is the link to our team page if you would like to hear his story.

Each dollar raised goes to actual people in need. For example this lady...

Susan was suffering from a type of lymphoma cancer. She went through about 3 years of battling with chemo treatments and had a full recovery. Years later she discovered a completely different type of cancer which is very aggressive that she has been battling for 4 years. Through chemo treatments, they discovered that her body was becoming immune to the treatments and the tumors kept growing. Doctors decided to put her on a trial experiment. Every 2-3 weeks she is flown to Phoenix for these treatments... some tumors have gone away while most have shrunk or stayed stable! Susan has this amazing will on life! While going thru these treatments, which literally puts her out for a couple of days, she actually makes it a point after day 2 of treatments to get up and walk a couple of miles! She truly understand that while fighting thru this, she wants to be as healthy as she can! But all this would not at all be possible without fundraising efforts. She does not have the funds to fly every 2-3 weeks or continue the chemo that is literally saving her life.


I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Its the only way for me to give back to all the people that tried to help my dad. Have a great day!

Best of luck with the half marathon; certainly a fantastic cause. Nobody is safe from cancer, it holds no prejudices and the downward spiral from diagnosis to death is nasty...

I'm sorry you lost your dad as well.

You are right and its the worst thing to watch as his daughter. I wish it was me and not him. He is the most selfless person I have ever met. Hes not in pain anymore and with my mom. So i guess thats what he really wanted since she passed two years ago.

Good on you Sunny, I did the 60KM walk in Montreal that JMan is talking about, even though it's not running it's still not an easy task. Good on both of you two yutes;-)

Jen and I have started donating our weekends and money to helping animals and it feels great. So I think what you are doing is great and sent you something from us.
