Immigrants PAY to return to Mexico
 

Because apparently America, specifically Arizona, sucks even worse. No jobs, economy is in the shitter, the banks run everything, and Mexico is looking better than the US now. These people had the opportunity to run to another state, or turn themselves in to ICE and get a free government ride back to Mexico, and instead opted to sell everything they had and pay to get the fuck out of here themselves.

The whole immigration debate can only truly be resolved if Mexico's economy reaches the point where the advantages of migrating are outweighed by the disadvantages. The US can do its part by helping the elements within Mexico to erect a level domestic economic/investment playing field. More level playing field = more investments = more competition = more jobs = more consumer choice = larger markets = more profits = more investments

Or, as this case shows, America becomes less attractive economically than Mexico.

Damn, could be less attractive economically, but sure beats getting a bullet in the head, being decapitated, or car bombed back in Mexico. Atleast it appears that way on the border. Not sure about other parts of Mexico.

No way you can deport illegals that are here. The government fucked up securing the border and now they need to pay for that. If illegals break certain laws, then they should be sent home. If not, there has to be a way to let them be here legally, get on a path to citizenship etc.

However, they need to do something to stop further illegal immigration from occurring. Simply on a moral level it inst fair to people that do the process legally. Why should some guy in Africa miss his turn just because he separated by an ocean and cant walk across a land border?

Universities in America basically exist on the back of international students who get charged about 5 times the normal credit hour rate. That's how most of the programs get financed, but now there are less and less international students, Canada and the UK have experienced a surge so the US is definitely not as attractive for immigration as it used to be.

Yes. Solving illegal immigration is something that will just naturally work itself out, just like the oil in the Gulf of Mexico. All we have to do is keep doing what we're doing, continue to go broke and worship at the alter of Walmart, and the US will no longer be an attractive place to live. Problem solved. What will be really interesting is when the US gives up it's death grip on the last shred of cohesion it has and the economy is ruled 'unrecoverable', how Mexico treats all the fleeing fat white Americans coming across their border, double-latte mochachinos in-hand.

It hasn't produced optimal results because the US gives the Mexican oligopoly a free pass on many trade issues. If Mexico liberalizes its economy, there would be no need to migrate since jobs will increase in number. The problem isn't unique to Mexico. Many developing countries are "poor" because market forces are stunted and twisted to serve MONOPOLIES. Monopoly = less jobs + higher prices/eroding purchasing power. Definitely the formula that pushes people out from Mexico and other developing countries.
