Best Android phone
I'm considering to go for an Android phone, what is the best brand/model at the moment?
tnx |
Samsung Galaxy S series. If you are in the US, each of the carriers has a version of it.
The Sprint version has the sliding keyboard and a few other added features (like 4G) that the other variations don't. It will be released on August 20th. I gave my girl my HTC EVO and have this new one on pre-order. Check it out against the HTC Desire, which was one of the best options before the Samsung. |

No problems getting the Galaxy S in the EU. Been out for about 5 weeks. Personally I hate the Samsung GUI so I'm skipping their phone. Spent about a month with the HTC Desire but ended up with the SE X10. Camera is important to me and I love their Media Go software. Others hate the X10 though so make up your own mind!

Yeah...the Galaxy S has been out in the EU for a while now.
You don't have to use the Samsung UI, it's just another launcher like any of the others available in the market. You just download a new one and use it instead. LauncherPro is the current favorite. |

I like the EVO a lot. The huge screen is a big plus for me.

The Droid X had a stellar review on Attack of the Show.
I have the basic Motorola Droid and love it, although my wife just got the HTC Incredible and now I'm Jealous. I don't think you can go wrong with any HTC phone. |

Are you using Froyo? Is your phone rooted? |
I've been using the T-Mobile MyTouch for about 8 months now. Haven't had any problems with it and I have a ton of apps.

I know my brother in law was raving on about how great his Droid X motorola is all weekend.
It was pretty damn sweet and also had a larger screen then my iPhone 3gs but still thin in size. |
will wait for Samung Galaxy S but maybe in a few months a better phone will be available

Picked up the Galaxy S Captivate last week. Pretty cool and just enjoying toying around with Android in general.

No. I gave my EVO to my girl and am back using a Samsung Moment, which doesn't have any sort of Froyo rom as of yet. On August 20th, I'll have the Sprint version of the Galaxy. Yes. It is a simple process and you can easily revert back to stock state if needed. The Droid X has a locked down bootloader, which might make it difficult to modify down the road. These phones are pretty "hackable" so I'm sure someone will break that wall down soon...if they haven't already. |

My sister just got the Droid X and is flying back to visit later this week so I'll get a chance to play around with it. |

I am posting from my SE X10 Pro and loving the phone.

I am close to getting Samsung Vibrant android, local Walmart here in FL sells it for $149 with 2 year contract with Tmobile. One thing that worries me from reading reviews is that there is no way to see any missed calls/texts unless you actually activate the screen, no LED. And off course battery life could be better ( people claim 10-12 hours max with average use).

Samsung Galaxy S series

Thank guys for the feedback will definitely check them out, I need to have some Android phones to test/develop some mainstream platform we are currently building, some knows if there are already phones available with Froyo?

Had the Nexus One, gave that to my assistant and upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. Larger screen and better battery life. I love it. Missed calls and texts are one easy swipe from the unactivated screen

Iphone is best

I'm a big fan of the HTC Desire. Simple because it's a duplicate of the Nexus one and you know that no matter what google do with their OS their nexus one will always work with it hence the Desire will also work with it.
